Or possibly that the owner of the car failed to inform the driver that it had 9 year old tyres on it.

Had he known he might have not gone drifting in it.

Or the family have been convinced by a no win/no fee lawyer that they can make some money out of this.

Next we will have families of Chav's who wrap they're Corsa (kitted out on 19's, slammed on bodged springs, chipped etc) around a tree trying to sue Vauxhall

Yes completely unbiased, I really believe that.

If anyone has a claim then it's Walker's family and against the estate of Rodas. The latter's idiotic driving was a massive factor in the death of both men.

And this:

"Roger Rodas was trained as a race car driver, according to his wife's lawsuit."

As if to say - he could never make a mistake whilst driving or ever lose control!

Seems Porsche are an easy target after that previous lawsuit.

Its all a bit sad and pathetic.

I guess Porsche will just settle. They cant afford the bad press.

I hope the family spend the money wisely.

How can this claim hold water? The car was owned by them and no doubt prepared in their workshop. How a car of that age can suddenly be declared as dangerous is ridiculous, especially when a "pro" driver was behind the wheel.

I have to say it's a sad state of affairs. Two people have died almost certainly due to driver error but the family can't accept that and want to blame someone else. Something like this will mean that it will be almost impossible for any manufacturer to even think about making a car as unique as the CGT ever again.

If I were Porsche I would fight this to the bitter end and damn the cost rather than have one of the best cars I've ever made labelled as "unsafe".

That sound you can hear is the last nail being hammered into the coffin of the drivers car .

Its over anyway mate , at least for mainstream manufacturers and big power cars . No one will risk these actions .

However Porsche can't yield surely ? Then any CGT crash till the end of time will end in a large payout .

I agree about Porsche fighting this.
Don't agree with the family not accepting it was the drivers fault. More likely an ambulance chasing lawyer has convinced her that he can win her bigs bucks, probably convinced that Porsche don't want the publicity and will just roll over. I really hope they don't.

How did the human race ever manage to drive without driver aids.

A race driver unable to keep a car steady at 55mph, the rest of the buyer must have already crashed if it's that unsafe.

I think its a bit distasteful to critisise the widow of the driver even though we all hope Porsche fight and win. For all we know the drivers estate is being sued by any number of people with a few bucks invested in the actors future earnings.

I understand. I guess I wasn't clear. The Police report appears to lay blame on the driver. I'm not a lawyer but I'd be amazed if those with a vested interest in the passenger/actors survival (ie family, agents, producers, studios etc...) wern't queuing up to sue the daylights out the estate of the driver for killing their man. It's a sorry state of afairs but suing Porsche might be the widows only option to get away from this without being bankrupted by the vultures. If Rodas had liability insurance, which is common in the US, the lawyers may be insisting they sue Porsche as defence to the claims they are likely to be hit with. We don't know, I just think people should lay off the widow is all.

Oh dear god, just why?? I love how people are trying to blame an inanimate object for this now. It wasn't the cars fault, it was the person doing unsafe speeds and loosing control of it that is to blame. Sure the CGT is a bit of an extreme road car but surely that should mean you treat it with a modicum of respect on a public road.

We don't see every other CGT spinning off the road and exploding in a fireball. Personal responsibility\accountability seems to no longer matter with everyone trying to blame someone else. The lawyer has actually said it's an unsafe car not fit to be on the road, FFS!
