Sadly true, announced on his authenticated Twitter and Facebook account.

An Idol for a generation of petrolheads. It looked like a pretty horrible way to go too. I can only hope he was gone before the car started burning

The last time I got upset when a celebrity died was River Phoenix, but this has just made me cry.

RIP Gorgeous.

Very sad news. RIP

I wonder how this will change the plans for F&F7, with Statham.

So many fond memories of his performances. I will admit to being a child of the Playstation generation - his roles within the F&F films brought to life the whole idea of "import" tuning/racing.

Will miss him a great deal. R.I.P. frown

Tragic loss.

As has been said elsewhere he was responsible for inspiring a whole new generation of petrolheads.

Jesus Christ!!!! Chinese social media networks overloading with this news so I thought it was another one of those wretched hoaxes gone viral.

Very, very sad news indeed. Paul seemed like a really nice guy from what I heard from friends who knew him. F&F franchise fantastic entertainment for petrol heads around the globe and he was a huge part in making that happen. 40 far too young to go, especially in such brutal fashion, but at least he left something positive behind which is a lot more than most. Good on him!

Rest in peace Paul Walker. frown

Very coincidentally I am currently randomly watching F&F and during a quick browse of PH during an ad break came across this very sad news.

A great shame and condolences to all. frown

This just appeared on my Facebook feed and from the picture, I didn't initially recognise him, desperately sad.
Clearly a lover of cars, and clearly died doing what he loved.

I wonder how far along with FF7 they were? IMDB shows it as currently filming.
Will the movie get finished (although clearly this is not a consideration at this time)

R.I.P Paul. I've grown up watching him, this is definitely the first celebrity death that has actually upset me. It's thanks to these guys that I got into cars in the first place.

I guess I'll be making today and Fast and Furious movie day frown

Very sad and tragic for his family RIP

When my boys 13 & 16 wake up to this news they will be truly saddened

It's too easy to underestimate the power of the films on the youth audiences
