Two years and I've no idea on his condition, and don't believe anything that the media reports.
It's not about you and your wants. It's about him and his family and it's up to them to do what they think best.

I can't believe this thread keeps on coming back again. The guy is obviously seriously, severely impacted, there's not likely to ever be any truly positive news or fairy tale ending.

Let him and his family come to terms with it in their own space and time, FFS.
Think you've misread/misinterpreted what I've said.

And I'll do whatever I like on the subject thanks. Unless his wife and family specifically asks me otherwise. So unless you actually represent them, do one.

Another thing to remember amongst all the shock and awe that has befallen unto many from the Schumacher accident....

There are many many people across the world that have suffered brain trauma from birth, accidents, strokes, violent attacks etc etc and they don't have access the half the help that MS money can buy.

So the the next time you see someone in a wheelchair, or someone struggling to speak coherently, walk properly or all of the above maybe think twice about using the word 'spaz' or 'retard' etc and empathise that they might just be trying hard to cope with life smile

It's because people like you keep responding.

Me? I'm not the one complaining.

Thin snow cover in the Alps at the moment; my son did a full-on Schumacher (thankfully just face planting onto snow/ice rather than a rock) last week. Smashed helmet but basically OK. Keep safe out there, and stay on the pistes unless you're sure of the snow depth.

Skiing rocks, but in all honesty, rocks don't.

^This. The guy has suffered a devastating life changing injury that have consequences for him and his family that many people would actually consider worse than death.

I mean how stupid and selfish are people? There isn't going to be a miracle happy ending and the family is under no obligation to drip feed the media news updates so that people can keep their facebook inbox flashing with the latest 'keep fighting' meme / bit of juicy gossip.

If I had a famous family member and something like this happened then I would damn well shut down all communication with the press and do anything I could to protect the families privacy - including cutting out so called 'old friends' who moan in the media about not being invited to see him.

Well said. To all the people who use such language, just remember fate might decide it will be you, your children or other loved ones next.

There's a happy medium though, if you turn MS into a human equivalent of MH17 then you will inevitably get stories made up or you do not wish to be out there. Nobody is asking for hourly Facebook photo's or updates.

Jules Bianchi was probably in a worse state than Michael and his family handled it very well over the months.

Even if they said his current state it would end all speculation and BS floating about.

There is no happy medium...... they either want to give out information or they don't. Everyone already knows the nature of his injuries and it doesn't take a genius to work out from that what is likely condition is.

To suggest anything they release will end current speculation and BS is just fantasy thinking. It would cause an immediate rush of speculation, crappy 'news' articles, social media interest, etc, and put the whole situation right back as front page news. It would die down for a while and then in a few months all these idiots would be demanding their right to further updates.

Jules Bianchi's family handled things how they wanted to based on their family dynamics and knowledge of Jules, that is their right. Michael's family are doing the same and that should be respected. Your assertion / implication that one family handled it well and the other badly is just bks IMO.

The reason you don't see family official updates is because MS is in a serious vegetative state with almost no chance of recovery. His family don't want to say that and rightly so.

The problem with your diatribe is that you claim that releasing information would not stop the speculation. How do you know? The only comparison we have recently is with Bianchi and it did stop the speculation whilst garnering a lot of sympathy from not only the public but press too. So you are just hypothesising there with no evidence to back it up.

Where did I say Schumacher's family handled it badly? I said it was a black hole, it is, and people will try and fill it. I also said Bianchi's family handled it very well, there was no black hole and nobody then had anything to speculate on. That's also true.

They are doing it different ways, mine was a comparison and a list of pitfalls doing it one way rather than the other.

Schumachers' family could do so much to raise awareness of brain injuries, if they wanted.

They have lived a life in the public now they want privacy during what must be very challenging times.

I look forward to seeing good news / or that he is ok one day (even if it never means any further press releases or remainder of life in utter privacy).

Reading the article strongly suggests his situation has deteriorated and possibly continuing to do so, so yes, it is news imo, and seemingly foreboding!

I beg your humble forgiveness.

I welcome your insight into what you know that makes this "non news" versus a rare public statement by someone that might actually know.

Sadly, we may be heading in the direction of the worst. Long term complications are not uncommon in these injuries.

Ive said this many times in this thread and unless you understand how brain injuries can manifest it's hard to follow

MS suffered a brain injury that basically caused massive damage throughout (diffuse) his brain - all areas.
'Long term complications' won't even scratch the surface of what he is suffering.

Have a read here http://thebrainbank.scienceblog.com/2014/01/30/mic...

I would guess from the ex Ferrari boss comments that he is deteriorating significantly. I would sadly be unsurprised if MS passed away in the not to distant furture frownfrownfrown

They could, and I would not be surprised to see relevant donations etc in the future, after his death which IIUC is unlikely to be more than a few years away, but I doubt anyone has the time or emotional wherewithal to do much of that ilk at the moment.
