Somalian born "British" CBE holder doesn't seem to like paying UK taxes.

What dop you think?
I think every British racing driver with the exception of Stirling Moss has done the same. smile

He could be one of the moonies as far as I am concerned his religion is his private business. He comes across as a decent bloke and family man who has worked hard to get where he is and not without some difficulties in his early life.

Or he could just be copying another of Britain's top long distance runners - Paula Radcliffe, who moved to Monaco for 'training reasons' http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance...

But Mo's move to Oregon was for genuine training reasons. Surely that's not in dispute.

Way, way back, when I was a kid, I can remember a TV ad for a breakfast cereal which featured Steve Cram, training at altitude in IIRC Colorado. It's nothing new. My guess is that while there are other places in the world to train at altitude - and Mo himself did some Olympic training in Africa - the mix of altitude, climate and proximity to first world sports, scientific and medical facilities is probably unique to the USA.

Exactly.

Colorado is a centre of excellence for this. I'm guessing there might be places in Oz maybe, or elsewhere with a comparable climate, but being in the middle of the USA has the benefit of so much, it's a no-brainer for top level athletes.

Top web sleuthing!

Not a patch on the Daley Thomson Lucozade ad, with Iron Maiden soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4YTB5FZeHQ

(Shame Lucozade now seems to be the beverage of choice for litter-dropping, chav scum.)

Along with Chris Froome of course.
Although he spends quite a bit of time in Tenerife, at Team Sky's main training centre.

The BBC program on Farah was laughable, some of the st he came out with re his training and such.

I cannot see his results standing the test of time sadly based on how he has dodged the questions asked of him in recent times about his association with certain people.

I don't think Froome has ever lived in the UK has he?

The good thing about Monaco beyond tax haven status is that its actually a pretty decent place to be as a cyclist, lots of good roads around, and warm weather.

As said, much training is done on Teide, for same reasons Farah goes to Africa to train at altitude.

Is it possible that American IRS would start perusing him for tax too? Therefore he'd end up paying double.

I'm sure Boris had an issue with tax and US citizenship.

I'm not convinced you understand the meaning of the term "Islamist". Do you simply mean he's Islamic?
My bad, of course, I did mean Islamic. Typing in 3rd, brain in neutral.

My point still stands though, I'm sure many, many millions of Brits don't know he's a muslim!

And I called him a foreigner and immigrant to highlight what the tabloids would call him if he wasn't such a success (as, as well you know, he spent the first 9 years of his life in Somalia). Now he's (almost) Sir Mo Farah - the tabloids wouldn't dare.

Hope that clears that up. Apologies for any misunderstanding.
