Or, you know, a motorbike. My commute has largely been unaffected (apart from an increase in morons in cars drooling over their steering wheel oblivious to the outside world as they sit in traffic for two hours).

I'm happy with my £2.80 a day bus ride smile. Besides I'd kill myself on a bike, and I plan on moving out of London in summer

And the train does go there from Euston hehe

The only issue with getting the train from Aylesbury To Marylebone is that it puts me the wrong side to get to London wall, otherwise it would be perfect

Somewhat predictable, glib response.
Whats not to agree with, cycling is not dangerous if you are switched on enough.

Less than 10 miles seriously is easy on a bicycle even if you are not that fit.

Over 10 miles and and less of an athlete get a motorbike.

Never done it before then you seriously need to try it before making negative comments.

No thanks! Seen too many get squished in the last decade.
Living generally involves taking a few risks.

Do you smoke, drink, a bit chunky etc.

< 10 miles is easy??? fk right off! It may be 'do-able' if the office has a shower but otherwise it's a no-no. And again - easy??????

why people choose to waste their time (and money) is beyond me.
Limiting factor for me historically was whether the place I was working has shower facilities.
Excuses.
You wouldn't be saying that if you were the poor sod who had to sit next to me biggrin

join local gym, use their shower facilities

I haven't quite mastered levitation yet - but cruising carefully past all the lemmings does make one smile.

Commuting is one part of the day where I do not have to be switched on, why the hell would I want to engage?

I'm quite happy walking, thanks.

Odious tosser.

And the other bloke. The one with a curly perm and a ponytail. Every time I hear them speak they sound like a caricature of themselves.

For what it's worth I would never cycle in london. It's too dangerous; I need at least 100bhp and body armour to feel safe biggrin

Have you ever actually tried it, seriously its not that bad.

Leave a change of clothes at work.

You dont need to be sweaty unless you are going mental.

My wife cycles ~ 25 miles to work 2-3 times each week and I think she is mental smile

In other news, Lahndanahs are late to arrive at their designated cubicle, having to walk and go to work on buses, just like the bearskin wearing cave dwellers outside the M25.

Whingeing and whining, the mating call of the lesser southern softie.
Or, just perhaps, the result of squeezing much of the 8 million population on to an insufficient number of buses. My commute yesterday was four buses, with six missed due to crowding.

But yeah, you're right. You do that every day and don't complain, don't you?

Walking is clearly also great if you dont have to go far.

Being switched on ~ but switched off from work and life hassles that would be festering if I was sitting in a car, I have a very stressful job and when I am on my cycle or motorbike I think its like being in a computer game, and everyones out to kill you. Doesn't really sound that relaxing does it but it is for me!
