That botched male circumcision - that is pretty much what a routine FGM amounts to.
Not really. Most women who have undergone FGM will still be able to have sex and children, whether they enjoy it or not is an immeasurable. Although having said that, Muslims take a pretty dim view of sex anyway which is where FGM and MGM both come from - sex is dirty you mustn't do it so we'll deny you the pleasure.

He's not going to have a happy life that child, probably not a long one either.

If you really want to use the word mutilate go ahead. It just detracts form the discussion, as does even having it in the same thread as FGM.

The word come from the latin, meaning to change. You can dislike that etymology as much as you want, but it won't alter anything.

If you don't think that slicing off part of the body is changing it then I'd ask what you do think it is.

He will still be able to have children, though he probably won't enjoy it. The cut off his sensory tissue, not his testes.

How's he going to impregnate a woman without a penis? Mental-feminist idea from the other thread?

There's not going to be a woman who wants to be with him is there, let alone have kids with.

Good point.

FGM isn't exactly common either.

:sigh:

I dislike the use of the word in this case as it is overly emotive and right on the edge of it's definition. It's like saying that the removal of a cancerous tumour is mutilation. But hey if your stance is a radical one people are going to use radical language like "rivers of blood" and "sexual mutilation". I just think that comparing FNG with circumcision and calling it MGM defecates in the face of those women who have been caused genuine harm, just as the hate preachers do to every day normal followers of various religious beliefs.

You can obtain sperm from a person who cannot ejaculate either surgically from the testes or by electrically stimulating the prostate gland under general anaesthetic. Then use IVF.

That rather depends on the woman.

Not going to come cheap that.

Possible, but a very long shot. Then you've got the situation above.

No, that will be an expensive come.

His mother is suing the hospital, though, and that will be the kind of cost they will be looking to have considered.

About 24,000 at risk in this country alone.

I read somewhere that 98% of women in Egypt have haf some form of it.

Nope, at least not in the UK, but almost 100% of FGM results in removal of the clitoris, most also includes the labia majora (sp?)and I believe (but am happy to be corrected) many also remove the minora (sp?)

Only the very rare mess ups with circumcision result in anything more than en evolutionary throwback which is as much use as an appendix for humans being removed.

The key word is estimate.

How many men are cut and how often does it go wrong? Not that it ever goes "right" really...

I do wonder just how many of the posters who are anti circumcision have had it done.

It isn’t exactly a regular topic of conversation I fall into but I have observed that the men I have spoken to who have admitted to being a Cavalier have, to a man, said that given the choice tomorrow they would still rather be circumcised. Indeed the only dissent I ever hear from them is the joke about the loss of ¼”. The flip side to that is of course if it looks goods and doesn’t smell bad more ladies are going to be happy to see if it tastes good wink And yes I have had BJs from girls who have refused other men before on the grounds it looks nicer, feels nicer and is always stilton free.

I'd rather be uncut. My body, my choice and all that.

Personal hygiene is down to you, and women saying they prefer a cut penis is just like a man saying he prefers a cut woman. Difference is, you won't hear any men saying that.

Honestly it is your choice, I have no issue with that.

Your second comment though really does show how little you understand about the physical, mental and medical realities of either. As another poster tried to explain to you, the closest circumcision gets to even the most ‘gentle’ FGM is that poor bloke where the operation went very wrong and he lost his glands.

You don't use a penis beaker?
