UK pointing warheads at Russia? hehe

What a load of bks... the warheads take seconds to target anywhere the submarine commander wishes. There is no need whatsoever to "point warheads at Russia", but it makes for nice headlines wink

Seems a monastery in the Kremlin is on fire.
Some strangeness going on over there.

Paranoia weed.

Putin mentioned to a gathering of Russian folk a few months ago to 'remember, we are a strong nuclear armed power' or words to that effect.

Since then, the Russian (state controlled) press have apparently been 'normalising' the prospect of using their nuclear weapons in anger, as though they are preparing the public for something, amidst other propaganda bullsh*t about the West being evil, etc, etc.

He's really grabbed this Cold War nettle with both hands, and won't let go.

Well put, we have Mr Junker openly talking about a European army. Heaven help us with those morons at the helm, they will make Blair look like the love child of Einstein and mother Teresa.
I don't think its going to happen. Appears to be little more than doubling down to sell the narrative the United States and Britain are selling. Had there been any actual unprovoked agression on the part of the Russians or the east of Ukraine, the response from the EU would have been very different.

I wish you were right. We must remember that when it comes to stupid and illogical decisions, the EU bureaucracy is the gold medal standard.

Heard that Putin has not been seen for around a week and various internet rumours of massive increase in helicopter traffic in Moscow over last few days .......lots of conspiracy theories........anyone know more?????
We've been doing business with a Russian firm since 2008. Towards the end of last week, odd things happened with bounced email coms - did make me wonder what is afoot.

As for tyhe wealthy seeing Vlad as a liability, I am almost certain this is the case. Rampant inflation for the whole population is also bad for his popularity.

That article is a pile of st. Every two years or so there's a NATO arctic bunfight and the USMC send a few hundred grunts to get frostbite and learn about the real 'cold' war with all the other NATO forces; there's entirely no chance of a USMC brigade visiting noggie land and there's quite enough pre-placed equipment in storage to not require any more to be shipped in.

WTF is going on over there, is this a normal exercise that has just been declared. Seems to be one hell of a lot of large scale military build up going on

Russia have been ramping up activity in Arctic for a while now. Their planned expansion of the navy in particular is ambitious to say the least.

I imagine he's getting his nose touched up, the same conspiracies swirled around last time he disappeared for surgery.

This is all about Arctic oil.
Guaranteed.
The Russians and Americans (and others) are already squabbling over Arctic territory.
Time for a world treaty, like in the Antarctic.

Is that really from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office?

But scary if so.

But why can't their views change due to constantly evolving geopolitical circumstances?

The West has been in and out of Iraq since the end of the Cold War, in the name of democracy and liberation and freedom in the interests of the people there.

Obama even won a Nobel peace prize and yet he's back in the region warmongering again.

Warmongers all around. Not in my name!
