But attacking small countries not in NATO - well of course.

Sounds like the training they have been given is starting to pay off recently, whats the latest on supplying Ukraine with lethal aid? im no expert but they have gone from running away from one of the best trained and equipped enemies to things being pretty even (and in some cases having the upper hand)

For an army that was poorly equipped and lost a serious amount of tanks etc in this war this convoy is pretty impressive:

and this website hints that these weapons have come from 'the west'

It's worth remembering Ukraine has a fairly large domestic capability to produce arms.

Work to restore the vast collection of mothballed soviet vehicles is well underway.

148 T-80 tanks currently in storage are to be reactivated and refurbished

Here is a restored T-64. The cost of remanufacturing knackered old Soviet tanks is apparently 15 times cheaper than building new.

I personally think that is very unlikely that Russia start invading Lativia but...

They've been begging NATO to station troops and equipment in their countries for years.

Now, thanks to Putin's actions in Ukraine and elsewhere, it seems they are getting their wish.

Putin is his own worst enemy.

His paranoia that NATO might be creeping eastwards, is starting to come true - but purely because of his own actions in Crimea, E. Ukraine and other ex-soviet countries.

He's also not happy that Lithuania doesn't want to be dependent on Russia for it's electricity any more.

And he's buying some new fireworks too.

Only despotic lunatics in Generals' uniforms would ever want to see those things activated.

Quoted like a true supporter of Russian misinformation - scherzkeks removes the last part of the original sentence.

Just a thought - Greece is desperate for cash, and is about to leave the euro.

Stavros was in talks with rash-Putin yesterday - what's the odds on a nice new Russian naval-base-in-the-sun appearing on one of Greece's hundreds of vacant islands in the next 18 months, and Greece all of a sudden being able to meet it's debts.

Wouldn't put it past either of them.
