when has the western country freely gave away their strategic location, literally for nothing?!

Also there is the law in Russia(to not import foreign food) which good or bad should be respected, you can't accuse Russia of lawlessness yet at the same time of applying that same law.
Without forgetting that the inability to feed its citizens adequately was one of the major reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union.

But that's none of my business.

However Russia does not refuse to purchase food from all foreign sources, nor does it refuse all food. It's mostly to try to spite the EU in a tit for tat game to wind each other up. Both sides are capable of it.

No, didn't get that bulletin, but the USSR ceased to exist in 1991, the same year Ukraine got it's independance, so how can it 'not' leave something that isn't there anymore....?

yeah it got its independence but the Crimea was handed to them long before 1991, it's that Russians had much bigger problems in 1991 and didn't even think about future of Crimea, signing a simple lease contract with Ukraine again hoping it will never come under western influence

and it's very important strategic point that Russia can't risk losing, has nothing to do with Putin himself, no Russian would allow that as they all realise its importance

Pictures from last year have surfaced showing Russian T-90A tanks operating in Ukraine with markings painted over

sources suggest they are from the 136 Motor Rifle Brigade.

A very cogent point, particularly since securing this region would be a linchpin in ensuring US domination in the region. It's all part of the quest to maintain hegemon status. At this point, however, I'm afraid that ship has sailed -- much to the chagrin of the neocons and their useful idiots.

And reiterated that it respected Ukranian borders AFTER the dissolution of the USSR in1994. Hence Ukraine gave up it's nuclear arsenal.

I think what trips up Putin fans in the West is that he sounds quiet reasonable most of the time and has his underlings do/say all the crazy stuff. The devil is in the details. Putin wants to challenge the "US model of the world" but what does Russia has to propose to replace it? What is the "Russian model"? Stealing oil/gas money from the budget and hiding it in secret Swiss bank accounts? Because this is what Russia has to oppose the American model. The level of corruption in Russia has reached a level where it is destroying the foundation of the country. At every level, from a cop taking bribes to the spokesman of Putin wearing 600,000 EUR watch.

Just a small a propos, it is estimated that 10% of aircraft replacement parts on Russian aircraft are fake or already used but identified as new. Doctors have been known to purchase their degrees. Bureaucrats do not approve projects where they can't have at least 50% of the earnings.

Life in Russia is cheap. This has garnered no reaction outside of the circles who knew it anyways.

That's probably because being that all media is controlled by the holy one, nobody outside of the circles will of known about it.

Very easy to just not broadcast.

Look at China re recent explosion or and casualties.

Saying that, look at the BBC re government level peado's investigations.

Far more on Sky, like way more on Sky.

The information is easy to get in Russia. There still remains an independent channel or two. People simply don't want to, for now. For many, many reasons. A bit like jumping out a plane without a parachute and deciding to enjoy the fall rather than scream in terror and think about splattering on the ground.

What the Russian Army does is force soldiers to write post dates "resignation" letters and take an official "vacation" making them de jure NOT part of the Russian Army. They are then re-instated when/if they come back. Very rarely do actual Russian troops cross the border.

Russia has 150 million people, they can find 15K volunteers without forcing anyone, it's what 1 in 10.000 people.

It would be another story if it was Afghanistan or some other country not connected with Russia but Russians are emotionally connected with their brothers in Ukraine so finding 15K people shouldn't be a problem.
