Malaysia Airlines Plane "Loses Contact"

Large, heavy pieces such as engines and undercarriage legs will survive quite a long time in the water. There are still quite recognisable aircraft wrecks from World War 2 sitting in lagoons. A couple of years ago, a rich businessman located and recovered from the Atlantic some of the F1 rocket engines that had powered the Apollo 11 Saturn V.
Just had a flick through the Bezos expedition website. Have they made a documentary or program about the recovery do you know?Blaster72 said:

I'm assuming there would likely be nothing left really now anyway
Why do you assume that? Big stuff like engines aren't going to just disappear.Who knows

But currently it is a tragedy with very little explanations. My thoughts go to those killed and their families. I do hope some closure can be found.
As reported on CNN just now...
A NY magazine claim that the pilot had practiced the 'suicide route' on his flight simulator at home.

I though that had been dismissed shortly after the disappearance.A NY magazine claim that the pilot had practiced the 'suicide route' on his flight simulator at home.

Search to be curtiled shortly if nothing esle is found. We may never know what happened.

The continuing tragedy of MH370 remains an unsolved mystery. From all I can see of the current results of hugely expensive deep water searches as yet there is no firm evidence of the whereabouts of thè actual plane. Some items that appear to be part of the aircraft have been found some distance from the current search site.
It seems to me that eventually something may turn up that provides sufficient evidence of the probable actual plane location, possibly by back searching the likely distance and direction of travel that such finds might suggest. Until then I think calling the search off is understandable but also understandably unwelcome to the bereaved relatives and family members mourning their loss.
I do think some evidence of what happened to the plane will eventually be discovered. However that could be some considerable tile away. Continuing tragedy for all those desperately tragic victims and relatives. Life can be very ,very cruel, as it was to all those involved, in this terrible event. There are no easy answers, I fear.

Another possibility as to the whereabouts of this plane see:

It would seem that the current search area has not found any traces whatsoever.
There have been some discoveries but not in the current search area?
Peraps a different search are might prove better?

Where would you suggest? There was another hypothesis a couple of weeks back that they had been searching too far north, assuming the plane was ditched. Someone had the bright idea that the plane might have glided...
