I just paid this scientist to tell everyone that ATSB was wrong and search area should be redefined.

On a serious note, if people like this were leading the search this plane would have been found a long time ago.

I'll bite - he's proposing to trace back now a piece has landed on reunion and to count barnacles for some reason.

How exactly could he have lead the search "a long time ago" without this evidence?

I think you just hear what you want to hear, because he doesn't say that at all

How would listening to an oceanographer help find a missing plane? Right up until the plane entered the ocean it had nothing to do with it and his skills would be irrelevant. Problem is that determining where the plane was before it entered the ocean is the most important part of the mystery.

people "like this", so not exactly him, but someone else with different expertise but attitude like his

anyway here is the video to explain some things, from different expert in the same field...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0W7tcObbEw

northern part of the search area looks much more probable if this is anything to go by

never have I said that, if they did we would know it

the fact is they turned towards Australia after entering IO, the only reachable airport on that path would be Christmas Island and there is no other plausible reason why would they make the turn except that one

This is of course based on your theory/delusion* that he nicked the plane and passengers because he was in a snit about the jailing of a politician, yes?

To be fair at this point a few days difference in formally identifying the parts isn't going to make a difference to working out where the aircraft ended up.

Probably just waiting to get all the right people in from Boeing, Malaysia airlines etc. to help with the investigation before starting.

Yeah, I mean it's only a case of pretty much confirming the deaths of a couple of hundred people. What's the rush?

You would want to do a lot of checking.

Exact aircraft. Serial numbers, history of repairs to that aircraft, which parts were changed, careful analysis that it wasn't a junked part from another 777 meant for destruction, etc. Then double check. Then check again.

No harm in a few days being lost at this point.

Exactly why they shouldn't rush before they make any statement.

There'll be another announcement soon that France closes in August.

Off topic but, if anyone's planning to invade France, August would be good...smile

he was already pissed off with the government, I think he already had this(or something similar) planned and the court decision was the trigger

he was physically present in court that same morning, to say he was just an ordinary opposition supporter is understatement
