Malaysia Airlines Plane "Loses Contact"

Indeed, and it's entirely feasible that MH370 could be a lot deeper than Titanic. The ocean floor where Titanic lays is on a very gradual slope, so it was relatively easier to find once technology allowed. Large areas of the ocean floor are littered with huge caverns, MH370 could well be lost forever.
Yep, Bismark for example is 4,791 m down that's almost another mile down.Blaster72 said:

Unfortunately I can't provide a link, it was on a forum regarding Titanic, it was found to be inaccurate, although not far off. It does the rounds though. Remarkable how well Titanic is preserved considering.
Ta very much. I thought it looked pretty accurate to me as a visual representation.Bit of a thread drift but I've always liked this one as a size comparison for Titanic.
The 777 smaller than the A380 in the picture is broken up and probably the largest sections would possibly only be engine sized. And nobody knows where it is.

There was a bloke on the wireless today from the search organisation (they found the Air France plane) and he said if they are give the area the plane is in they will find it.
Well, yeah. Tell me which room you are in, and I will find you.
"tell me where it is, ish, and I will find it" is totally meaningless.

Exactly, but I think the point Willy Nilly was making, and the guy from the search and rescue team,,was that if the authorities and Malaysia Airlines actual lifted the ring of steel that have around the location information that they have it would be easy to locate.Tell me which room you are in, and I will find you.
Several,of my pilot buddies know other Commercial,Pilots who have been " gagged by Malaysia airlines " because they knowmto much about the information that is known, but not made public.
Of course that could all be the usual tin foil hat conspiracy therories too, but the pilots I know are all commercial, captains, for major airlines, one of them a Middle East airllije too, and are not normally given to believing in crackpots!

Never mind.

And that if the Malaysians 'fess up, and hand over the data then the chap who found the AF plane will come and find it?
Sounds pretty straight-forward, who do we need to sue?

The suggestion being that the Malaysians (and some other pilots) know the Australians were looking in the wrong area?

That's pretty close to what I have heard in certain discussions. And that if the Malaysians 'fess up, and hand over the data then the chap who found the AF plane will come and find it?

I know a lot of it is to do with the Malaysians not wanting to loose face because they kept what they really know about Captain Shah hidden from both Press and the next of kin.
Although am I not right in thinking that once they declared the search over, and all souls lost, the process for awarding claims and compensation to the relatives and families will start?
Would it be differnt if the world found out that the truth was something like Captian Shah had planned for a long time to crash a plane full,of passengers, as an example of another outcome?.

It'll be a Titanic type situation I imagine. In years to come technology will improve and it may be found eventually.
Really I imagine everyday more of the plane is disappearing and will most likely never be found.titantic was fuelled by American money in the serach.
the truth is it cost money to search and unless someone privately comes up with it, and I would say you would be looking at hundreds of million to start it all again then it won't happen.
my thought was some sort of particle analysis machine taking samples at points in the ocean and trying to pinpoint the plane. there must be a chemical signature the plane must give off as it decays.

Does such a thing exist, or are you imagining it? And if it does, it must have to be able to detect 1 part in several billion.AdeTuono said:

As no ne is really looking at this piece of the planet - no oil prospecting etc, I can't see it ever being found by accident.

we have similar happening with so called AGW, they have made a religion out of it despite it's getting more and more obvious it's just bks
And some of those same experts predicted a Trump win. However, that was dealing with predictions, rather than evidence. we have similar happening with so called AGW, they have made a religion out of it despite it's getting more and more obvious it's just bks
It is bks that 15 record breaking global annual average temperatures have happened since 2000?
The lost plane and its passengers are extremely unlikely to be found, so we will be unlikely to discover any more solid evidence that adds to what we already know.
Plenty of scope for conspiracies, though.
