Question is, how many of you that think "he wasn't being offensive!" or "the context in which he said it is fine!" would happily use the N-word in that same way in front of a black person that you've never met before?

Anyone that says they would, IMO, is talking nonsense and needs to quit with the keyboard bravado.
Racist, plenty of brown people use the word with each other.
Yup; I've got mates who regularly use it to address it each - the word on its own isn't racist. Its all about context and how its said, as with many potentially racist terms. Quoting an old nursery rhyme - not racist.

Don't worry the lefty / anti car brigade won't rest until Top Gear is removed from broadcast.

'The Mirror'. Hardly an unbiased source given it's previous Editor.

Why do idiots like this bother to squeeze out of the womb?
Until the unbroadcast footage was enhanced and put out by the Mirror, nobody's feelings had been hurt. Now they have. Whose fault it that? Maybe they can find some unbroadcast footage of him with his cock out, broadcast it, and tell everyone that they should now be offended.

I'm going to say the N-word now. Said it. Said it again. Said it ten times. Nobody is offended, nobody heard it. If the Mirror put a video of me doing it on their website, offence is created.

If of itself inoffensive why does anyone use the cowardly reference 'N-word'?

Because in this context some people are offended by it being used, and it is not nice to offend people unnecessarily. And the forum software will censor it anyway.

So the context you are referring to is the mere publication of the word not the context of that publication?

Looks like their poll has backfired.

Offence is taken, not given. People offended by a naughty word in a rhyme should definitely stay away from the Hip-hop section of HMV....

The context in this case is the audience reading it and the wishes of the management of the site.

The actual word comes out like this:

Which both makes it rather hard to read and makes the wishes of PH management clear on the issue.

It is easy to circumvent the swear filter. Do you know how to do it? I can tell you if you like. Do you fancy posting that word in that manner and seeing how long it takes your post to be deleted?

Sorry for The Lad Bible Link, the article is safe for work. There is also a YouTube video on the page which, after hearing, I think he clearly says it.

You can see what the joke was meant to be: he mumble the rhyme making 80% of it intelligible including THAT word, so you are meant to do a double take and say "did he really just say what I think he said" only for TG to deny that he said it (so, pretty standard TG PR stunt). Only he doesnt quite mumble enough. He then completes the rhyme with "...when he squeels let him go"....

It really is pathetic. The mirror and Daily fail are not fit for chip paper let alone quality news stories. We all know that Morgan hates Clarkson and its beyond childish that his former paper has its hands on a video that never made it to TV. As for calling his dog after a famous ex Chelsea footballer, again clutching at straws, he's a Chelsea fan after all. On top of all this it is amazing how people today say you can't say this and you can't say that because of political correctness, it seems to have gotten to a point where it has become ridiculous and petty in some cases.
