Two fantastic results for UKIP. Surprised the bookies got it so wrong in Heywood and Middleton as it was on a knife edge.

Who will be next to defect?!
I hear Ed Balls will defect smile

The absence of a Tory thread means I will post this here.

Tories today crowing about Dave's victory in EU migrant rules.

All that it is when boiled down is that theEU are ssaying transitional arrangements could apply for any new member states joining in the future. Which clearly is nothing new.

Seriously Tory supporters, it's duplicitous rubbish like this which will harm you in the long run. Don't ask people to trust Dave when stunts like this are being pulled.
Shamelessly ripping off Winston Wolf.

:tap tap tap: Is this thing working?

How big do you think the debt is?

How big do you think it was in 2010?

He has added more than 50% to the debt in just 4 years.
Are you totally stupid? If you inherit a budget shortfall of over 150 billion a year, you can't just turn the taps off over night, so this whole notion of Cameron letting the debt balloon so fast is hogwash - use your brain, I beg you.

Having stayed up to watch the result come in and that ridiculous harpy who won for Labour screaming,
"Keep your hands off our NHS, Mr Cameron!"
I am becoming even more convinced that they really don't get it. My personal experience is that Mr Average Joe is far more concerned about immigration than that tired old warhorse.
If we do get any cases of Ebola and they can be linked to illegal immigrants, the swing to the right in this country will be simply enormous.

Interesting times....

Actually I'd say it strikes a cord with a lot of people, the Yes campaign peddles lies about NHS funding/privatization here in Scotland during the referendum and many people swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

OK, after this and watching QT last night, at what point is somebody going to get brave and point out we just cannot afford to keep piling money into the pit that is the NHS?

not being funny, but the levels of funding are just ridiculous now, we simply cannot afford to keep paying at these levels.

now, I don't have the answers, but I think we do need to audit what's happening, just how much money is being syphoned off in PFI's, outsourcing, supply contracts, the druggs bill, energy bills, etc.

As a nation, we are not (yet!) that unhealthy, so just why is the NHS so out of control?

Quote of the day, on the BBC.

Farage asked about voting Ukip getting Labour.

Farage's response - 'You'll be saying next that a vote for UKIP will give you Ebola.'

Watched this this morning and thought it was fantastic, if that's all they have to answer back with considering the results in Haywood, they will not win the General Election, it is looking like vote conservative get labour.

The Tories and Labour must be worried sick that there are still over 6 months to go to the GE (in which UKIP's membership 'will' increase as will their support).

The LibDems must be worried si... (Nah, they're already finished!).

The train keeps rolling... now unstoppable.

Its this sort of childish misrepresentation of economics that makes UKIP look like a bunch of clowns.

You know, as well as anyone, that government spending lags government policy by years - many years in some cases. In other words the levels of spending we have now were locked in years ago by Blair & Brown & co. Their only mistake was not to countenance the idea that the economy might tank at some point as it did (a pretty fundamental error I grant you).

The implication that is clearly intended by your post is that it is this government's fault that they are having to borrow as they are to pay for the decisions taken years ago when quite clearly they have very little option but to do so.

I expect you probably also blame them for the problems in the NHS budgets which PFI is causing and will continue to cause for the next 30 years (again courtesy of Brown)

Its bks, its misrepresenting the facts by a country mile & its stupid political points scoring via misinformation.

And you lot say that the main parties are less than honest? rolleyes
You cannot blame Labour for the trebling of the foreign aid budget.

Did you want to see cuts in the police service?

Did you want to see the cuts in defence spending?

Cameron is a socialist.

Well done.
Only need 4 more Tory defections in safe seats to catch up with Sinn Fein.

You do understand the difference between "debt" and "deficit", don't you?

The trebling of the foreign aid budget was all Cameron's idea.

I'd just like to congratulate - wholeheartedly - the LibDems on finding 483 peeps to vote for them.

In the week of their party conference too.

Lost deposit and behind the Greens. Sobs.

Labour lost some 7,000 votes (even with all their 'postal' votes).

spin it as you like, that's a massive loss in support.

Ah, you want to play stats do you?

UKIP won 50% of the seats last night.

Share of votes over both seats:
UKIP 50.82%
Lab 24.66%
Con 19.30%

But of course, they are just a protest party.

I have just woke up to this - H&M is an astonishing result, I am very surprised at this!

Labour must be crapping themselves - I cannot see Ed Miliband lasting until the next GE - At least the Tories knew they'd lose the Clacton seat, I bet Labour didn't expect such an upsurge in UKIP votes in a 'safe seat' - must have been quite a shock.

Good!
