hehe

He sounded like a Dalek, getting louder and more robotic as it went on. EXTERMINATE!!

Good to see wee eck keeping politics out of the games, he even changed his yes badge. And a master stroke leading the flight MH17 silence. (tin foil hat on, to silence any boos from the crowd maybe? someone had to say it!) Not suggesting anything for a second of course.

Where as I said during the fly by it would have been much cooler had enid and gypo formed a proper saltire over the stadium.

Just give the nats 0.9 of a plane (i.e. minus the engine) biggrin

They can paint it blue and wheel it out every 24th June.

My understanding is that the Scottish Government explicitly asked the MOD to have only blue and white smoke from the red Arrows. The answer back was a polite fk off. Since when have the Red Arrows changed the colour of the smoke to suit the occasion? They are a UK aerobatics team operated by the UK's Royal Air Force....nuff said.

Yep. Even if they could/would change the colours - surely it would be to blue and yellow (the colours of the Commonwealth flag). These are the Commonwealth games - not the highland games.

Would the new Team be called the Saltaires?
And in the name of equality and fairness it will be flown by an overweight transexual bus driver called Derek

And as a cost saving measure Derek will have no flight training

He'll have a job getting it off the ground if its got no engine biggrin - unless its powered by all the hot air coming out of Salmonds mouth.

Strap him under one wing and Sturgeon under the other - then ask them a question about the currency union - you may well have enough thrust to actually get one of those things off the ground hehe

Apparently the link is "missing" smile
I'd like to see it - surely someone must have posted it on youtube?

On sky news business it sounds like in this round of the banks results they will be making formal comments about iScotland and its implications liquidity the removal of the £85k savings guarantee transition process and that they would have to follow EU rules re where HQ has to be based given the majority of its business resides in what would be a different country.

Hmm interesting.

In other words they'll be stating the obvious that given independence they can't be Scottish.

Some executives at Lloyds Banking Group and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) are advocating a scenario under which the central bank would make a public statement ahead of September's vote guaranteeing deposits and liquidity.

fk that.

It might be a reasonable thing to do in the period between a Yes vote and an actual split date. That way deposits might stay with the banks while they sort out their long term plans instead of the instant run on the vote date.

It could also dampen any potential run that might occur in advance of the vote anyway.

The consequences are interesting for a Yes.

It means the risk of money flight is very real.

It means the banks will have to make reassuring statements post a Yes very quickly.

It means effectively, in order to reassure, the banks will have to prove to depositors that their money will be safe by effectively putting it under the control of UK regulation, the 85k gtees, etc.

It means the banks will have to say they are effectively moving to the UK on the 19th Sept.

This whole thing could be a real disaster.

Shouldn't be a surprise. Similar implications to the UK gov's guarantee of debt last year plus also the guarantees around north sea oil investment. Nevertheless these cold hard 'real economique' practicalities just flutter past the sunshine, lollipops and rainbows world of the McMelgibsons.

The sky is dark with the wings of chickens coming home to roost.
