I have to agree were dispropotionately endowed with wind in Scotland, most of which eminates from Alex Salmonds mouth.

Interesting, especially so since we've been told how Scotland will be a strong rational peace living voice to counter the UK in Europe.

I'm sick fed up of self-righteous 'Yes' voters that feel like they can demand why you're voting no and call you an idiot for having a differing opinion to them.

Well... Monday night telly is normally crap.. Might as well tune in..

My favourite line was....
He said: "I wish I'd explained one aspect in more detail to people, and I'll definitely take the next opportunity to do that, and that was the question of the currency.

Juddering ****
It is not unreasonable to suggest that he needs another week to dream up the tortuous argument. Short odds that if he publicly contemplates an alternative to an agreed currency union, it will be a unilateral one.
The one where B stands for Panama.
He'll also trot out the 'our sterling' line which is simply rebutted with 'our oil.'
The guy is thrashing about like a dying fish on a sharp hook.
What he is going to try & do is to shift this whole debate to "are you saying Scotland can't afford to be independent or can't make it on its own?"

The problem with this (for everyone else) is that actually they have all been saying it can do so because it would be politically incorrect to tell the truth & say, "no, it'll most likely be a basket case within 3-5 years."

Darling needs a good answer to this question.

The truth is in fact somewhere in the middle. Scotland might be able to make it but only if supported via a Currency Union and with EU membership. Since it will get neither it'd be screwed before it even started.

The inevitable response to that will be to accuse all & sundry of bullying and the "suppression/enslavement of the Scottish nation"

The answer ought to be "no mate, that's just life - sometimes it sucks" - but needless to say nobody will have the stones to say that either!

The answer is easy - Scotland is a good and prosperous place, and it is that because it is in the union. Everything people are proud of about Scotland has been built under the union.

I've given up on Facebook because I have friends posting drivel like this.

Check out those FACTS

No arguing there, eh? It's all true. FACTS dude, FACTS

Probably originally posted by Jim Swinney.

I'd always thought that the Scots were well educated but I might have to revise that opinion.
I`m in the same boat. There`s a couple of people I`ve known for years and I`ll be frank and as upfront as possible in saying this. They are nice enough guys but somewhat challenged in the rational thinking department. Some of the absolute dross and fabricated, unsubstantiated claims, as well as weak picture analogies they have posted have `nearly` had me asking WTF they are on. Again,as repeated, a LOT of people hoover that stuff up as fact. I can only assume in some cases their complete myopia stems from bigotry and the rest capitulation.
It`s been said innumerable times, this referendum and the SNP has caused nothing but division and friction and has a lot to answer for.
So far I`ve refrained from intervention as tearing someone`s argument to shreds would have no positive outcome. Animosity takes place and, well, you get the picture.

Ongoing nonsense.

Roll on September.

Are they the splitters from the will of Scotland's people?

Or was that the Scottish peoples will?

I don't have friends in that boat but I do have work colleagues and people that I know of. Personally I cant wait for all this to be over so we can put this ugly bump in Scotland's road behind us.

If its a No but then you keep SNP in power then another referendum will be demanded as its the will of the people of Scotland.

If the final result is better for the ProYes camp than the 1970's vote then they will be pushing hard for the victory.

If however its a narrow Yes - will the same apply keep voting for rejoining he uNion as its the will of the people of Scotland.

Been a while since I have posted but not much has changed if you're pro yes then economic argument is irrelevant and if you're a no voter then face book has loads of things there to remind you what a tory scum bag you are. If it is yes then I think that's it end of if it's no then I am sure the snap will carry on.

Spoke to a friend in Scotland and he told me I would be surprised at how little coverage this is actually getting which makes me think more people than not could care less. So I guess all the shouting by both sides has made little difference to most voters so in the end what we will see is the true will of the Scottish population.

I keep hearing about polls showing gains on the Yes side but surely when push comes to shove the majority of undecided will default to 'no' come actually voting?

Well polls need to be of a sample size of c1000 people by doing this if the vote was today it should give a pretty accurate representation of he final result.

Just watched/endured that odious toad Salmond on CH4 news he really is away with the fairies, I cannot believe and refuse to believe that the Scottish people would vote for that man to lead an independent Scotland.

I agree that the Scots should be independent if they so wish although I'd rather they stayed with us as we are stronger together.....but HIM! He boils my piss every time I hear him or see his face I start shouting at the TV.

Yes we can keep the pound, no we won't be joined at the hip to the UK, yes we'll have our own man on the board of the BoE running things with Carney.....

A fantasy land.....

Pretty crap here where we live at the moment, we've had some cracking weather lately though!

The main problem has been the showers, or st, from Eck and his mates.
