I'm very much of the thought that the areas that vote for independence can have independence

and the north of the country can stay part of the UK

Except, as previously posted, Ravenscraig was closed by British Steel against the wishes of the Thatcher government. Bob Scholey the Chief Exec of British Steel made the decision and announced it without telling the government because, he said, they would have tried to stop him doing it.
