You never got back to me with what you thought of John Swinney's secret memo. ( The one that says... pensions will be cut, public sector workers cut, defence cut, oil revenues slashed )
Any thoughts?
Welshbeef has a £50 charity wager riding on this - if that is some motivation.
As a fence sitter it would push me more towards a no vote

I've been lurking in this thread for a while and it seems to me that, even if the yes vote only reaches 25% then I would be better avoiding Scotland. As an English person, if I walk into a restaurant or a hotel, the chances are that more than four people will be involved in the service, therefore chances are one of them will have a hatred for the English (judging by the vitriol and some of the video links). I'm not sure I want to run that risk. Plenty of other places to visit I guess.
I'd say you're best off taking your chances in Scotland. There can't be many countries with only 1 in 4 of the population hating the English Grumfutock said:
A friend of mine, Scottish to the bone and VERY pro Yes, has just tried to convince me that 40% of the solar power for the UK is in Scotland?
Now that just cant be right can it? Wind and rain maybe but 40% of all our solar power?
Logically vast areas of uninhibited Africa should cover with solar panels and sell the energy to EuropeNow that just cant be right can it? Wind and rain maybe but 40% of all our solar power?
Tidal in South Africa and North Sea to sell to other markets
But solar power from Scotland or anywhere in the UK is really poor returns

Looks like nonsenseNow that just cant be right can it? Wind and rain maybe but 40% of all our solar power?

Yorkshire alone has more solar MW than all Scotland, but regional stats are from 2012.
SW clearly is the best place for it, sun wise.

Basically the poor in Scotland (like those that live in Glasgow high rises)have to pay extra on the heating bills so the more well off property owning types can have cheaper electricity provided by panels on their roof. Now that just cant be right can it? Wind and rain maybe but 40% of all our solar power?
Only fair in that Scottish fair society that Salmond wants more of.

I'm hoping there's some sort of typo or autocorrect error here, because it really doesn't read well.Tidal in South Africa and North Sea to sell to xxxx markets

fking hell, language Welshbeef!
In light of all the damage to trade/free market relations caused by this referendum, I'm hoping Salmond and the whole Scottish government will get behind Scotland's place in the UK. It should be announced as soon as a no vote is confirmed, in order to allow the wounds to be healed as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
