But I get the gut feeling there will be a yes vote.
I really hope not, the "no" camp are just much less vocal. Most people I know up here are in the no camp. You have to admire the nationalists.
All the polling evidence says the outcome of this referendum is not in serious doubt, and that No will win comfortably.
Women voters, in particular, are less likely to vote for change.
Yet still the nationalists believe they will prevail, despite all the evidence. They insist that the polls are biased and the bookies are wrong.
Faith? Denial? Who knows.
What seems certain, however, is that they will have to deal with major disappointment on September 19th.

Most of the Yessers I know don't have a pot to piss in and there's no thought process involved, it's a case of things can't get any worse for them.
That's a good point. They seem to be split between the underclass and some "academics" with a romanticised view of what would happen post a "yes" vote.
A toxic combination.
Is it me or were 80% of the audience questions from Yes voters?
Not very balanced.
Overall a shambles, first debate was more interesting. This just felt very tired.
Alex sum up "we are better" etc. Typical Nationalist.
Darling seemed nervous all night.
I'm surprised Alex is allowed to get away with the debt dodging. It is just insane.

Darling was a mumbling stuttering non entity tonight. Salmond dragged him into a slanging match and boxed clever. Anything that `might` have been a decent point from Darling, Salmond spoke over the top of him to conceal this from the audience, which appeared a bit bias on the Yes side.

I think Darling was trying to conceal his anger and total exasperation with Salmond. I wouldn't have blamed him if he'd just walked over and kicked the interrupting tw*t in the sporran.bigkeeko said:

I think that's a good summary, darling allowed himself to be dragged into party politics. Salmond just pointed to the bad things and darling can only offer 'more of the same'. Salmond did much better tonight, but I still can't see how people can vote yes. A few weeks ago there was no plan B on currency, now there are 3!
Still, a member of the public on the news has just described the currency issue as 'admin' so perhaps it doesn't matter much??!!
