Scottish Referendum / Independence - Vol 5
Discussion
Oh please let it be a YES vote.
I've not allowed myself to dream they'd be dumb enough to do it, but it's so tantalisingly close now.
Come on you Scotchers; think of Culloden, think of Bannockburn, think of Maggie and the Poll Tax, think of Wallace (not Grommit) , think of Rob, think of Braveheart... think of FREEDOM!!!!
You're so close now don't let it slip.
Oh to be rid of the chippy ingrates and to spend the next 5 years watching the fun!

What is the best way to hid cash outside of scottish banks?
Is barclays safe?
How about zopa?
time to move cash assets
Oh, definitely. Anyone who hasn't transferred their cash out of Scotland is taking a serious risk. If there is a yes vote you may find it difficult to move it afterwards. Some restriction must surely be put in place to stop a run on cash assets! Is barclays safe?

Unfortunately, the uncertainty may affect the whole of Sterling with a resulting 'run on the pound' - shades of Black Wednesday and the ERM debacle methinks!
What joy this referendum could bring to all of us!

Actually, using the pound without a currency union would be prohibited under European Treaty law. Iceland and Montenegro had their EU applications rejected because they didn't have their own stable monetary authorities.
Such a shame our representatives at Westminster wouldn't ask questions our behalf... as I said two or three years ago on this htread.
Decided what way you're voting yet?Such a shame our representatives at Westminster wouldn't ask questions our behalf... as I said two or three years ago on this htread.

Any that doesn't have it's HQ in Scotland, make sure you get a sort-code that doesn't have a Scottish postcode attached to it too. You'll likely be too late now though won't you? I'll hold your cash in Sweden for you for a 10% handling charge if you like?
I'm surprised no voters haven't moved their money already, it would have had a pretty strong impact on the narrative if it had been done in large numbers.

Just remember to take into account delivery costs buy back price etc etc, you could end up losing 10% and thats without the gold price dropping much more (it could also go back up).
However it is "off the grid" if that's important to you.

I think this will start to happen now.I'm surprised no voters haven't moved their money already, it would have had a pretty strong impact on the narrative if it had been done in large numbers.
The lack of any financial compensation scheme is reason enough for money to leave Scotland.
There could be queues outside the banks on September 19th.
