May I most sincerely apologise to the entire PH community for starting this thread. If there had been the slightest inkling of just what woodlice would come creeping out from the forum skirting boards then the thread would not have been started.

I am out.
I started the same topic at the same time but mine got merged into this one.

Quite lucky in retrospect.

wink
But surely FiF has been around long enough to know what PH threads are like in these matters ?

So how can it have come as such a surprise ?

Just imagine if she has also liked solar power and supported the Liberal Democrats !

Welp, no surprises there then. Doing Class A drugs with such a young family. No sympathy for her, selfish bint - poor kids though, she threw them away. frown

Yep. fking skank.

Shes just put her poor kids through exactly what she suffered as a child with her mother. Disgusting.

(And Phaedra was a mythological woman too, not a bloke???)

In plenty of cases it doesn't make a great deal of sense to brand addicts and suicides as selfish or even irresponsible. If their mental state makes them incapable of making rational decisions, how can they be held morally accountable for their own actions? They are beyond their own control.

From the sounds of what I just watched on BBC news her daughter was in the house when they found her dead. Jesus.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment the addiction would just move - alcohol, codeine (from cocodomal tablets, etc)

A more austere form of punishment (as opposed to rehabilitation) for certain crimes might be a good move though. 6 months on South Georgia in the winter, sewing mailbags might be a better deterrent than the current approach.

Maybe we do need a 2 tier system. Punishment for severe crimes, behave well and you move to a rehabilitation / nicer prison.

It was pretty obvious from the beginning what had happened. I'm sure, if possible, there would have been a complete cover up.

My take on this one - mentally ill in some way. Post traumatic stress after her own mother died possibly. Then having children of her own probably set things back on a downward spiral as it simply made her contemplate the family in which she grew up.

But on the plus side she did get to be a contributor for Mother & Baby magazine.
Wow what a great role model.

It is unfortunate to have a name such as Peaches and end up being stoned.

And Sir Bob gets engaged

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/bob-geldo...

Yesterday there was some deluded "friend" of Peaches extensively featured on Channel 5 news who "wanted her remembered for her achievements, rather than the manner of her death" and who found the funeral "very sad".

I'm sorry if I don't sound sympathetic but I think the whole thing is just grim as grim can be.
I think Sir Bob's timing is terrible. I cannot think of what "achievements" to remember her by either.

There was the time she dropped her baby out of the pram and didn't even get off the phone to pick him back up;

The tweet where she said he didn't fall out because he was strapped in was a nice touch.

harsh, but possibly fair.

it's my wife's opinion of her anyway-especially as she was such an advocate of breastfeeding. nice.

I normally stay clear of anything celebrity related, and to be honest anyone's death is a tragedy for their loved ones no matter what the circumstances but getting high on heroin while alone in the house with an 11 month old baby?

Selfish doesn't cover it. Had this been some smacked up slapper on an estate in Sheffield there would be unanimous condemnation, I really don't think her "achievements" should be overshadowing her behaviour here.
