My prediction is that come general election, UKIP will have protest vote, that in tangible terms of being able to influence anything will amount to nothing. Well, those 9 MEPs will obviously still have their salaries, expenses and allowances. With faithful seeing that as a good thing.
My prediction is that it is way too early to be making predictions about the general election. A lot can change before then.

Lets get the Euro and local ones out of the way then see

And it seems CMD has more bad news - what wonderful judgment this man has! He'll be gone by Xmas as I keep saying.

And, naturally, I want to keep this thread near the top as it was last week, not let it slip away as some on here might soon start to hope.

Some of you might find this interesting: from Radio 4 today, a discussion of the nation state (which is a fairly recent and arguably an artificial thing), ideas of national identity, and possible alternatives to the nation state such as city states and super states. Meanwhile, the Observer today reports on a campaign to restore Venice to City Statehood (The Most Serene Republic used to kick ass, but was kiboshed by Napoleon in the early C19, IIRC). I am not sure that the Republic of Swindon would work, but you never know.

How can you (s2art) predict that you'll lose hundreds of pounds by 2020 is beyond me.
It's not beyond basic economics, set out here.

The true costs, therefore, equate to between £15.6bn and £25.1bn a year, or over £1000 per household.
UKIP have got it right on that particular policy.
Is that first source the of the same quality as RepealTheAct.org? People who predict think that CCA will / does add £880 to the average £1200 bill?

And you are mocking BBC as a source of information? Yes, I can see that, one-man-band with stated agenda is obviously much more reliable source.

UK prices of gas and electricity are very competitive. Google gas/elec price comparisons.

And on the same page to the right; Vote 2015 predictions.

People here can predict cost of electricity in 2020, election results next year should be much easier, more accurate to predict?

Wonder how many seats the Conservatives will lose as a result of UKIP getting zero?

TBH it might be worth Labour getting back in just to see the 'kippers venting superheated urine steam..

A week is a long time in politics! That's from up to last month March.

Made me smile that poll you point to on the right, says Lab maj of 4.
Do you think that's the Telegraph deliberately omitting the 1 (ie 41 maj)?

http://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/homepage.html

Say what you will, one party only is rolling at the moment (and to date nothing has stopped it).
Whether they get any seats or none, their influence cannot be ignored. Whereas prev all the other 'loon' parties would have been.

I see Cameron's judgement has been put under the microscope AGAIN! hehe
This time the role of his bankrupt 'friend' Caplin at the Public Loans Board is revealed.
Farage must be laughing himself silly.

I've not seen your name around much before on here, and I see that you haven't posted much on PH anyway, so perhaps you don't understand the special rules that apply on NP&E. Let me help out.

1. There is only one true God. He sent his only son down to Earth to be a lowly public-school educated son of a stockbroker, so that he too could become a stockbroker. This gave him real-world experience of a "proper" job to give some credence to his preaching to the lads down the pub. You must hail the One True God at all times, and should not invoke His Wrath, or that of his disciples.

2. People who live under dictatorships and/or generally oppressive regimes around the world tend to try to get their news from the BBC as it has an international reputation for balance. Some of them even get locked up for it, or worse. But here on NP&E we have seen through this bunch of leftie tree hugging bearded sandal wearers. We know that every single bit of so-called "news" from the BBC has been written by some Trotskyite lunatic who is intending to sell us out to the lizards. Beware the BBC, and get your news from more reliable sources. Fox News is reasonable, as is the Mail, Express and Telegraph, but for total truth, accuracy and non-biased reporting, you need to read everything put out by the Bruges Group, The Institute of Economic Affairs and, of course, UKIP.

3. Politicians are fair game, and insults can be hurled around as required. In fact, some are compulsory. Use the term "liebour" when you mean the Labour Party, "lib-dums" when you mean the Lib Dems, "Winky" when you are referring to Gordon Brown, "Bliar" for Tony Blair and so on. You are completely free to rubbish their personalities and policies, and especially to point out their flaws. This rule should not, however, be applied to UKIP or any of its members, because they are special, they speak the truth, and any criticism of them will not be countenanced. People who fail to abide by this very important distinction will be dismissed as posters of malicious slurs or, at best, of posting drivel. People have been shot for noticing His Nigenesses similarity to Plug in the Bash Street Kids...

4. The fact that the human race has been bunging umpteen million tons of pollutants into the atmosphere every year since James Watt perfected his improved kettle has had no effect whatsoever, and people who think it has should get a job with those leftie tree hugging bearded sandal wearers down at the BBC, where they can bleat about it between each other to their heart's content. They should not, however, spout their lies on this forum. Oh - and by the way - that yellow smog that hangs over most Chinese cities for most of the day? They clearly need lessons in cookery because the buggers obviously keep burning the curry.

5. Everything that is wrong in this country, in all other countries, and in the bits of the world where there are no countries (you know, the bits where there is only water, just the odd fish or two and perhaps a plane) is the fault of the EU. This is because Mr Borrosso is a communist, and he wants to take over the world. Even the water...

6. Should you ever, in one of your dafter moments, think that UKIP has done something wrong, or the EU has done something right, rules 1 to 5 apply.

Happy posting

Firstly, there's nothing better about a multi-man band with an agenda, secondly you and various others when discussing sources need to learn the difference between primary and secondary sources.

Let me help you here. Kipper is never wrong, hence no need for 'sorry'.
Firstly dipstick I am not a "kipper", you clearly are of the mould that anyone who argues with the constant barrage of insults is though.

I presume you can demonstrate Party membership or affiliations that I currently hold? No, thought not as there aren't any, presumably you can also show my voting history?

What you cant show that either?

So basically you have no fking clue, who I have voted for in the past, what my normal tendencies are (should I have any), even though over the years I have stated what my historic leanings have been.

You are typical of the worst elements that show up on these threads, and accuse folk of being EDL, or BNP members, Bible belters etc, because they have the temerity to question our lords and masters.

I can see you will fit right in with the intellectually challenged idiots that use "kipper" to define anyone they disagree with.

Clearly fear and ignorance are both present in equal measure here.

Guam how very dare you. Regardlesss of personal politics, not swallowing anti-UKIP propaganda is unacceptable.

Some people must think PH is like CIF where the dripping wet liberal left can remove posts and ban people who disagree with their nonsense, simply for posting factual content.

In any case 'no need for sorry' is the copyright of incompetent LibLab Inc. They both need a Plan B.

Lol,

WW why did you delete your STFU post? There are plenty of kippers ready to defend you. Once again, I'm really curious about falling standards statement. I'm not holding my breath. Maybe you should ask Guam if that question qualifies for 'daft gotcha' question.

Kind of typical for kipper, Guam makes statement which is so patently false, maybe time to crank up the old hearing aid? WW makes ridiculous statement and when questioned resorts to 'STFU, stop asking that question' or similar. So civil.

Calculating where we should be is so beyond stupid, taking into account 2008, that only morons can take any such analysis seriously. Lest we think that with Nigel in charge, with his eminently qualified cabinet, we would completely avoid 2008.

And for simpleton who keeps asking why people 'bash' UKIP. For me, answer is simple. Curiosity. I'm curious about why people think that anything would change, even if UKIP gets enough MPs to form coalition.

I still wait for an answer to; 'Which UKIP policy would make you better off'. Not society at large, but you personally. Once again, say it loud; 15 years and nothing to show for.

Happy holidays.

smile
I have deleted nothing, would you like to post where I did that, I would like to know where I told anyone to STFU.

Secondly I made plain when I posted I was doing other things at the time I heard the piece (conclusion being to anyone but the terminally dim that I may have been wrong). That being said the base premise of a fall in living standards over the time specified, was correct (although the basis for their argument could well be wrong, which is a different matter) only the level was incorrect, this is why I posted the link to the video, unlike some of you on here I dont deliberately mislead, I will always link to the source as soon as I can find it, everyone can then reach their own view on what was stated by the source.

Now have you found that Bible Belter I am in cahoots with according to you?
I told him to STFU, trolling gets boring after a while...

There's more than one person who had full details in their profile prior to the influx of people with less than shiny motives and less than a full grip on reality joining PH with either empty garages or close to it. Any guesses on who they might be? Not aimed at you btw.

As for the rest of rs1952's misrepresentation, the people posting shyte like that are the Google addicts, plenty of people on here know first hand what they post about and unlike the useful idiots attacking them, reference their data and sources without the need for misrepresentation.

Still, there was some good from rs1952 posting that list of claptrap, it amused the 'minds' most easily amused by rubbish. It looks like that does indeed include you.

In the voice of venerable Mr McEnroe; You can't possibly be that stupid?
Ok, I'll go slowly. Hint is WW. As in WinstonWolf. Good so far?

Same WW ridicules, quite rightly, statement of 30% fall in living standards, thinking that I was the source. Once he is corrected, he, as usual goes quiet.

You made that statement without link probably hoping that nobody would question that, only when Countdown asked you to provide source you came with the link that stated nothing of the kind. Instead of backpedaling, simple 'I'm sorry, I heard what I wanted to hear, not what was actually said' would suffice.

Of course you can't do that. Conspiracies to undermine you are everywhere, people accusing you of deleting posts and such.

The solution might be to read/listen to things few times since reading things once clearly doesn't really seem to work for you.

Check USA election thread.
