What's Italian for 'kipper? Anti-migrant stunt goes awry.

No one suggests that. It's just one of those ideas made up by the UKIP lot who claim that they alone have a handle on reality (whilst to most of us seeming to inhabit a fantasy world). A sensible conversation about immigration is perfectly possible, but you can't have that with UKIP as all they do is churn out misinformation and play to prejudices.
You mean we have the temerity to talk common sense?Unfortunately anything other than "all immigrants are lovely and smashing" is deemed racist. This doesn't encourage healthy debate on a sensitive subject.

BV, if I had to name a poster who 'churns' out words, you would be top of the list. You make the Duracell bunnies look lazy!
Frankly, I can't be bothered

If you take the trouble to read what people actually say on this thread you will see that what you have just posted is complete nonsense. UKIP accuses its critics of playing the "you're a racist" card, but in reality it's UKIP that squeaks "you are calling us racists!" when any one points out that its premises and positions are incorrect, and thus seeks to stifle debate.Unfortunately anything other than "all immigrants are lovely and smashing" is deemed racist. I don't agree. It's not an issue I would raise with many of my nice liberal left leaning middle class friends and I still have a knee-jerk suspicion that anybody raising it is about to say something racist. And I think that if you are honest you know exactly what I mean.Breadvan72 said:

I take it you'll be voting for keeping everything as it is with one of the three major parties?
What would Einstein make of your rational?
Hope you like windmills...

There was not much obvious evidence of immigration ruining everything in the Cotswolds when I was there last week.
I know Clarkson lives there. Perhaps you even came across the Berkley Hunt?Breadvan72 said:
I add that there are schools which teach in French in London. No one goes OMG how shocking about that.
Thought I'd pop back on here to see the latest.Oh dear.
There's no OMG about it because that's nothing new. I was taught French in school in Oxfordshire in the 'sixties!
However, bet they don't teach how to beg on the streets and leave 'merde' everywhere?
Lot of merde on here too.

UKIP = BNP for people who don't like tattoos.
In fairness, the thread didn't run that long, certainly not to 81 pages based on a story that was based on a falsehood or misrepresentation. Clearly there's more mileage in your particular approach to debate. Breadvan72 said:
It just keeps getting better: So contrite are UKIP about the racist tt Lampitt that they have just re broadcast his election spiel in Wales. The TV station said "are you sure?", but UKIP said "yeah, put it on".
You know, I've been giving UKIP the benefit of the doubt. Small party starting up, cut some slack, that sort of thing. But to re-broadcast something that you absolutely know is wrong ('cos you disowned the muppet in the tape last night) is spectacularly stupid. Either Nige hasn't got a clue what's going on or he thinks people won't notice. Neither of these options are likely to win UKIP any long-term favour.

Now that's interesting. I wonder what effect it will have in Wales, the place where there is virtually no kipper support? And no influence whatsoever.
Perhaps the Welsh see that the racist has been expelled in a different light?
Or do you think some Welsh are racist? They must be in your eyes.
Latest YouGov poll. The kipper train has just rolled into Wales.
Don't look BV ...you might be sick.

"BNP for people who don't like tattoos" seems pretty apposite for Lampitt, eh?
Mmm. So he's been suspended and if the allegations are genuine he will be kicked out of ukip. Doesn't sound like ukip is the place for him or his alledged views. I agree with ukip on wanting controlled immigration and a referendum on the EU. I also like tattoos. Comments and threads such as yours make me think the arguments against ukip's actual concerns are weak.

Not only is it not actionable, you may be surprised at how many people agree with large parts of it.
So, what proportion of the core UKIP vote do you think would agree with a substantial part of Andre Lampitt's instant kipper-hero-to-kipper-zero views?Incidentally, I think UKIP supporters should embrace the label "Kippers", much as the Conservative party adopted "Tory". Own a name and it loses the power to denigrate.
