My god, it's only the Euro (and Council) elections next month, not the GE yet both threads at the top are Kippers'.

We REALLY have got you other dyed in the wool, stuck in the mud, ToryLabLibs worried haven't we? tongue out

Chrise, I see now even money is being wagered! biglaugh

The placing by two judge 'righteous brothers' on this thread of 100 notes each that UKIP gets not one member sitting in the Commons after the next GE.

We all know a week is a long time in politics, so nobody is gonna take you up.
That's because Kippers all know how dirty things are gonna get.
The vitriol has begun in earnest, god knows just how dirty it will get though.

I wonder though, are those bets fingers crossed, foolhardy, brave, or stupid?

Put it this way, over confidence usually - very often - backfires.

Nonetheless, what I would be interested to hear, and both have omitted to make clear, is are they gonna keep these bets open?
You know, if both are that confident, will it be right up to Polling Day?
- or will there be a closing date? smile

Im not going to join this discussion, but I have to ask as you use this collection of letter repeatedly.
Do you think that "gonna" is an actual word?

Does it matter? It's "figure of speech", it's not like he's writing a manifesto. rolleyes

Ha bloody ha.
It's a bit of slang. You should see how many manuscripts I receive with 'gonna' in. Perhaps I've been brainwashed by my authors?

And clever dicks I find always trip up:
do you think Im at the start of your sentence is an actual word?

I can live with typos. That my secretarial skills are called into question on a forum is neither here nor there.
I just have an over-the-top hatred of cringy teenage Americanisms so I am afraid I could not let "gonna" go.

To me, they don't seem worried. It looks like it's your wishful thinking. Au contraire, they seem to be so sure that they've pledged actual money to support their opinion.

You seem to be pretty sure that they are wrong. Why care about closing date why not take them up on that offer right now. Easy £200 for you.

Only once I've licked the windows clean.

Was it my imagination, or did the Electoral Commission say it was writing to Farage with questions regards conduct following yesterday's little news burst?

They can write as much as they want. It's an allowance (for those that can't tell the difference between that and expenses) that all MEP's get to spend on there UK offices. He's broken no rules. The Electoral Commission can do what they want, they won't actually have a leg to stand on legally.

I'd suggest they take him up on his offer of an independent audit.

Doubt anything will sate 10PS in his quest for more opportunities to show his faux disgust at all things UKIP.

If you mean lots of people are pointing and laughing at swivel eyed loons then yes, we're petrified.

As an aside I can't help but chuckle at the repeated shorthand for Nigel Farage. I suppose in a way he is a bit National Front Lite

Would we be correct in inferring you are not a Tory MP in a marginal seat?

Or a Labour one in a similar predicament for that matter?

I always thought UKIP would appeal more to the traditional Labour voter than Tory but it seems accepted wisdom they are more of a threat to the Tory's. I admit I don't get it. Labour historically have proved themselves far more euro-skeptic than the Tory's (with the exception of Blairs blatent giveaways to try and buy himself a back up career plan). Cheap imported labour and increased pressure for government services are always going to hurt the working poor more than the middle class. Is there any evidence labour voters are turning to UKIP?

A vote for UKIP is basically a vote for Labour. Not because their politics are similar (if you can say a single policy party has "politics") but because it's splitting the right wing/Tory vote.
