Any evidence that it is faked despite their previous? And to be fair both parties have quite some previous so large pinches of salt all round.

There is a real story deep down behind the posturing in this. Read the link posted above, and now imagine that same journalist is on the phone to this person. The journalist has become successful by playing the person at the centre of the stories. The days of reporting news are largely gone - the journalist is in the business of selling stories.

When an editor thinks a story has got legs, they will manipulate and put words into the mouths of the interviewee (sic). The idea is to stretch out the interest and press as many readers' buttons as often and for as long as possible.

Now factor in someone who isn't very media savvy into all of the above (unlike the PR person subject to the hatchet job in the link above).

Really, The Mail needs its own thread here, and the mods need to police postings elsewhere as rigorously as they do YouTube links. Then those people addicted to The Mail's clickbait would be safely contained in their own sand pit.
