Is that the same Lib Dems who headed the opinion polls shortly before the 2010 general election (for the record I agree the Lib Dems are heading for Euro and GE annihilation).

We will see but my real live tenner with the bookies for the last couple of years that Cleggy will be kicked out of Sheffield Hallam still looks a reasonable bet.

Very true...and your point is?

a) If Jonny and the Baptists was free it would be oversubscribed also?

or

b) If The Nigel Farage public meeting was to charge entry it would be 2/3rds empty as well?

or

c) other?

c) You got it wrong. 2/3rds of the seats empty was wrong, fewer than 30 antikips turned up! hehe

'Huh? Whaddya mean, our Stop UKIP Tour isn't working?'

'Anybody? ...anybody? ...ANYBODY!!!!!'

'Pssss, Jonny, we don't have an audience... well, unless you think an audience is 28 people.'

If their satirical show is as hilarious and original as their promotional song and video I would think there are now 28 disappointed Bathonians.

Not really the point. Also not going to happen if UKIP get their way and Milliband gets five years plus to wibble from Downing Street.

Why does it not surprise me to hear that

"...the stars of Radio 4’s The Now Show, Infinite Monkey Cage and Sketchorama..."

..are anti-UKIP?

Anyway, back to the original question, does anyone remember the 1989 Euro election? The Greens polled very highly - 15% IIRC.

As a party they didn't break out of their niche, but their policies were absorbed into the political mainstream. I suspect UKIP's fate will be the same: they won't become a mainstream party but the main parties will feel they have to take their supporters' concerns more seriously.

It seems that the "storm of controversy" the media seem to be reporting isn't about the content of the play anyway. Just pointing out that using public (Arts Council) funds to attack a specific political party a month before an election.

Wonder if the same funds are available to someone wanting to do a gig promoting a political party a month before an election?
