Struth. A bloke can't even tie his kangaroo down and whip out his didgeridoo without having the rozzers round these days.

Very clever. I am only surprised nobody had noticed yet, but he apparently did it with Two Little Boys.

I always wondered about Jake the Peg's Extra leg... wink

Seriously though I think this one's a branch too far for Yewtree.

I'm expecting a not guilty verdict on this one, haven't seen any evidence (not sure any is in the public domain) but I don't see it.
I so hope you are right
If he is innocent I hope he is found so, if guilty I will be happy to see him go down for it.

I certainly have no preconceptions regarding him, he didn't appear to be a sleazy character, but who knows what goes on in anyones private life.
This.

It would be interesting to know why P-Jay is expecting a not guilty verdict; sure he comes across as lovely easy going and friendly guy however you just don't know.
My perception is entirely based on his on-screen persona - I've never even met him, but I am a big fan of his. - I guess if I was looking for 'evidence' it would be that he's famous enough to have his history well known, yet not nearly enough to ever convince some teenage wannabe he could make them a star, nor has he ever had the sort of career that would make you think he'd have underage groupies sneaking into his dressing room. He's been married to the same Women since the 50's and seems to live a quiet life, in fact prior to Yew Tree the most controversial thing he ever did was recording a version of Stairway to Heaven.

Admittedly none of that amounts to much, but I just can't 'see' it, and unless he's found guilty I can't help but thinking all this has achieved is to rob us of a few years at the end of his career given his age.
As I've said on other threads, someone I know well has had personal dealings with Rolf Harris that would suggest that he's not all sweetness and light when it comes to dealing with young women. Obviously that's no indication that he's guilty of the the offences he's been charged with, but it perhaps suggests it's not as clear-cut as one might hope.

he will be found guilty because he had photos of minors on his computer, there is no defense for this and has near 100% conviction rate.

I suppose we only see the public image of these people and that taints our view of them good or bad. We never know what goes on behind closed doors but it still amazes me how Hall and Savile find so many people to abuse.

However that has nothing to do with the trial that started today.

It always amazes me that people claim to know and judge celebs, what they are like and what they would do or not do by watching them on TV. In Rolfs case, the only thing that we can deduce from his TV appeareances is that he has a beard and can paint!!!

i think he will go down from what I have heard about him though the industry.

How come?

So he can, say, be found innocent in this trial and then has to face a new trial for the images later in the year? Seems a bit inefficient to me.

maybe those whose mate from the pub who works with a bloke who whose cousin knows everything should ask them why they didn't report wrongdoings at the time to prevent further victims?

In my friend's case, because what she saw and was subjected to wasn't illegal, in her opinion, just creepy. Wandering hands would best describe it. But it certainly wasn't what she expected from RH, who'd have been in his mid-70s at the time. And it completely changed her view of the man.

Given that she told me about this well before RH was arrested (and before Savile's wrongdoings came to public attention, come to that), I'm inclined to believe her story.

The implication is that he will plead guilty when that charge is put to him - no trial req'd

If you're correct, and that's a big assumption, then there is surely even more inefficient. Why do you say no trail is required?

My wife met him and had a pic taken she said he was very friendly almost too friendly.

I was going to buy one of his pics as an investment just as well I didn't in light of this.

Just listened to content of the letter Rolf (allegedly?) wrote to ...

Oh jeez, don't think that will help him (if it's true).

You can read it down a bit here...

Why did the parents no go to the police? after receiving the letter.

I would have gone to Rolfs house if it was my daughter being abused.
