There were quite a few of the peoples waiting for the nod from Hitler to swap sides and they would have done so with glee. Unfortunately they had not heard about Lebensraum.

The UK has taken plenty of territory. Spent plenty of time and effort Anglicising Ireland. Did the UK then go on to murder people on an industrial scale which is what Hitler is infamous for?

But it's not ludicrous. Putin's tactics on the Ukraine mirror those of the Nazis in the Sudetenland and elsewhere. Get down to your library and read some history.
