Seems a bit daft that the whole of the London results have to wait for Tower Hamlets. Just declare the rest and leave TH's dodgy results till next month.

Some of the slagging it's getting in social media is hilarious.

"If Tower Hamlets ever invite me to a piss up in a brewery I'm not going. "

"I'm old enough to remember when Tower Hamlets started counting votes."

"Hamlets result is in and they've voted to stay in the Common Market. " Cruel that one.

There were some youtube videos posted during Thursday's election. Large groups of Labour rosette wearing Asian men standing outside polling stations, and on occasion even entering the polling stations for significant lengths of time. Apparently each party is allowed 2 representatives who must remain outside the polling station at all times. Police were posted to many pollinate stations but just watched and the polling staff did nothing either.

Usually the last resort of the intellectually defeated is relying on spelling and grammar mistakes in place of any other reasoned argument.

Sorry league you're better than that normally.

To be fair he did point out the "d" on my keyboard is being a bit temperamental (happened twice now) so he does have his uses.

.
Should be "Usually the last resort of the intellectually defeated is to rely on spelling and grammatical mistakes in place of any other reasoned argument. "

Anyway, would you care to back up your assertion?

There was a former councillor on LBC there who stated that the police in TH don't even bother to enforce the law there. And when pushed on why not individual officers hide behind 'oh it's just a cultural difference' excuse. This was in response to large groups of Bangladeshi males stopping voters outside of the polling station to tell them that because a certain candidate was 'jewish and gay' he should not be voted for.

'Cultural differences'? Would the same apply if you stopped white voters and told them not to vote for person X or Y because they were black and/or of a particular religion?

It's like they've taken all the worst aspects of Bangladeshi/3rd world politics and imported them over here.

Tower Hamlets pops up regularly in Private Eye. An old saying about 9-bob notes springs to mind.

Iain Dale, who was hosting the show, was shocked by the number of calls, texts, tweets etc that he got claiming 'odd practices' in many places, including of course TH. Iain did say that he was going to investigate further.
