Brilliant news - happy to hear this.

Justice prevails; hopefully it continues to do so, and I hope this acts as a deterrent for others.

Mmm he might be incapable of standing in the re-run, but he might just put some puppet stooge up in his place.

Also what's being done to reverse the damage done such as the very dodgy sale of the town hall building.

If he was so popular, he wouldn't have to rig the vote confused

Interesting. Now he's been removed, how long before people start revealing what actually went on and who controlled it? Must be an awful lot of details waiting to be revealed by people who now have an interest in seeking to distance themselves from him?

Will there be a formal Police investigation into the electoral stuff (and other alleged wrongdoing)?

Doesn't he have to pay the £250k immediately out of a total bill of £1m+ or else insolvency proceedings start?

Serves him right.

He'll be slipping back to his motherland soon with all his ill gotten gains. If he pays I'll be surprised.

I'm not sure if that's the Gilligan piece that mentions one of Rahman supporters landed Exeter University with a legal bill.

200 page official judgement is here
https://trialbyjeory.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/j...

I have only skipped through the second half due to the length but it appears to be thoroughly damning throughout.

His "party" did not even have a bank account, or any kind of auditable records, as required by electoral law, but instead operated by getting supporters to pay off bills as they came in, in lieu of donations. Who knows what state the Tower Hamlets borough accounts are in then!

Why did it take 4 local residents, who risked everything, to bring this case to court? Why did the authorities or cps not do more?
