I thought the whole thing was a joke like that Iron Man suit for sale on a site a while back for £1m I think. As soon as you clicked it, it said it wasnt real. This however lets you get all the way to payment details....

I would have thought that if Nigeria can contain it, we've got nothing to worry about. I'll go and sell the 500 tins of corned beef I bought last week!
PS. Didn't really

Far from over IMO. If you like chocolate you better start buying now. Ivory Coast and Ghana are almost bound to be affected and they produce over 70% of the worlds cocoa supply. Chocolate is going to get very expensive.
Demand will drop off when it is confirmed that it carries the Ebola virus.
The Ebola bars on on me ! bandittumbleweed

I'd imagine in Africa it seems that way!
Malaria and other easily treated diseases are still killing more.

But it's ok. It only kills poor people so we don't worry about that one.

You know it's all blown over when the UK international business development secretary goes to the area to see what our money and resources are doing for the locals.

I guess you missed the 10'000 new cases a week then next month , if nothing done very soon ( something that has no easy cure ) . So no... it's not ok is it..

She's passed 4 days of clear testing. I'd prefer if they make it a full week....

Brilliant. I love that you've considered the implications on the Chocolate market. So is now a good time to invest in shares in Cadbury/Kraft?

A good article, surprisingly zerohedge, on ebola mutation.

I've been trying to relocate that quote about the viral load for days, thank you.

if the media were interested in the actual outbreak and not just the fact it got to, oooooh, the west, they might report the fact the number of cases is still increasing...

http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/136508/1/...

Nothing coming out of africa news presumably its perceived by journalist to be more dangerous than trying to interview ISIS, so they just pass on info from madrid and usa. Ooh look panic over its gone from the west.

The number of cases can only go up. It's impossible for it to go down.

If a million people died last month from Ebola and two people died this month then the number dying from Ebola has gone up.

The fact is the rate of death and infection is coming nowhere near the figures projected by the WHO and this brings their credibility into question.

Scaremongering at its best.

Calling it scaremongering is a bit harsh as it could undoubtedly be far worse in Africa, and the fact that it isn't is down to the WHO's (and other's) efforts.

Probably not as supply could severely affect their production capability. I do have a small spread bet running that the price of cocoa will rise.

I think Cadbury moved out of the chocolate market and into the brown solidified veg fat market some time ago.
