Why is the phrases 'nationalists' and 'nationalism' seem to have this bad and derisory feel to it by fellow ph'ers? Those no voters are nothing but uk nationalists spouting uk nationalism ideals...
I've no desire to be considered a fellow anything with the likes of you.arp1 said:

Uh... Majority of English voters want Scots 'punished', block grant cut, powers reduced, Barnett formula scrapped, English voters want westminister I take a 'hard line' against punitive Scots daring to have a referendum! That answer your question? Because it won't stay the same, that's for sure!
Hmmm, that sounds more like rUK voters wanting parity.arp1 said:

Because you come across as a fantasist. You miss the obvious questions, invent spurious answers, and dodge the hard questions. You appear negative, hostile and overly defensive. You don't engage, you hector.
Happily, the vast majority of the Scots I know are as different from you and your ilk, being normal, hard working people with an operational sense of humour and sense.
This debate has revealed the unattractive underside of Scottish society, resentful and bitter.
I really do hope this referendum results in a no, for the sake of the UK as a whole.

Oh? I must be an Englishman to be dissagreeing with you. Scotsman here Im afraid.p.s Scotland is in deficit with its block grant. Well over £10 billion a year. That doesnt include the billions it receives from the UK and EU for its oil, renewables and farming.
pps. Hitler was a Nationalist.

Victim - much!
Remind me where the two previous prime ministers that did so much damage to the entire economic and social fabric of the entire country came from and which party they came from?
You have no proof that Tony Blair came from scotlandRemind me where the two previous prime ministers that did so much damage to the entire economic and social fabric of the entire country came from and which party they came from?
As that would be to deny the basic fact that he is a lizard and or undead reincarnation of the devil

Just change the borders on the water again and your wish is your command
Actually, if they push it to international arbitration the answer is "yes, they can" regardless of borders. Scotland getting oil on the basis of geography is to be negotiated and is somewhat in rUK's gift as, under international law, existing mineral discoveries belong to both parties.MintyChris said:

Call it irrational xenophobia then if it makes you feel better. It seems to be a pretty standard reaction that the power hungry have always been able to rely on to manipulate the dim. arp1 said:
It's the difference between the 'yes we can's' as opposed to the 'no you can't's '
The problem is even a 5 year old would look at your plan to increase spending, decrease taxes, save all the oil money and stop borrowing and sayno you can't
As most 5 year old realise you can't spend money 5 times
So you can say YES WE CAN as many times as you want
The laws of maths and reality are the ones saying no you can't
I merely point to the laws of mathematics and reality
