FWIW, I quite like London.

I wouldn't want to live or work there but I would if I needed to.

The difference between London and Scotland is that London runs a surplus. I allways laugh when yes voters go on about London hoovering up funds.

I swear yes voters are masochistic, they do more harm to their own campaign than we ever could.

Uh... Majority of English voters want Scots 'punished', block grant cut, powers reduced, Barnett formula scrapped, English voters want westminister I take a 'hard line' against punitive Scots daring to have a referendum! That answer your question? Because it won't stay the same, that's for sure!
Actually we don't know why the Scots get a better deal than we get. The SNP keep banging on about a fairer society yet continue to take more than they give at the expense of other worthy causes within our society. It is about fairness not punishment but I can see why those with a victim mentality woukd think that.

Funnily enough, I've just commented on that in the main thread. I would copy and paste it in here but then the teacher's pet would report me to the Mods for a repost... rolleyes

Oh? I must be an Englishman to be dissagreeing with you. Scotsman here Im afraid.

p.s Scotland is in deficit with its block grant. Well over £10 billion a year. That doesnt include the billions it receives from the UK and EU for its oil, renewables and farming.

pps. Hitler was a Nationalist.

Remind me where the two previous prime ministers that did so much damage to the entire economic and social fabric of the entire country came from and which party they came from?
You have no proof that Tony Blair came from scotland

As that would be to deny the basic fact that he is a lizard and or undead reincarnation of the devil
It's commonly known that Mr Blair was born and was educated in Edinburgh.

No comment on this??

"Sir Ian Wood, the most influential figure in the Scottish oil industry, has accused Alex Salmond's government of exaggerating North Sea oil reserves by up to 60%.

Wood, the billionaire founder of the oil services firm Wood Group, said the first minister's administration had also overestimated North Sea oil income over the next five years by up to £2bn a year or £370 per person, raising serious questions about Salmond's public spending plans.

Revealing himself as an opponent of Scottish independence, Wood said North Sea oil reserves would begin to decline sharply within 15 years, raising questions about the future of the Scottish economy, jobs and its balance of payments if voters backed independence."

Ooh, my finger is hovering over the 'report' button for your insinuation that a 20th century national socialist dictator's anti-semitism has anything to do with Scottish nationalism. Fancy a break in the sin bin??

Call it irrational xenophobia then if it makes you feel better. It seems to be a pretty standard reaction that the power hungry have always been able to rely on to manipulate the dim.
STOP

For the last fking time (and I don't swear much) the Scottish political situation is not xenophobic or racist or anti-English or anti-anything.

Seriously, get over that. Look at volumes 1 and 2 of the main thread if you still need educated about that.

Jeez.

You have to admit that there is a lot of anti English sentiment out there, though.

Yes, I do. Economies of scale. Many things would be more expensive in an independent Scotland.

Nope, no comment on that. Both sides have tried to exagerate the oil industry to suit their cause. That's politics.
