I really don't want to end up living a dump of a flat in england
That's a truly beautiful home, all credit to you both. In iScotland, no doubt <tommysheridan> all property will be a (heavily taxed) theft though brother <tommysheridan> so prepare to pay again and again simply for the pleasure of living where you have worked to be.
Sat down did a calculation

Even if we hit a mortgage rate of 20% we can afford it if our jobs stay

I really don't want to leave this house
Oh dear.

will be sad seeing it covered in YES stickershehe

Seriously though, that place is beautiful.

Understand why i have more then a wee bit of trouble being civil to our freedom fighting friends

Took us 5 years to find/stumble across that place

I'll be damned if we are giving that up

I do feel sorry for people who have recently or semi recently moved up to Scotland to enjoy the better life...only to be caught up in this utter shambles.

Just heard of a colleague who is based in Scotland and due to work has to move south.

His estate agent, top end type, so a decent priced house I'd guess has told him if it's a yes vote his house is essentially worthless as the people who are likely to buy would be moving up from England, and no one would be for some time to come.

So the Scot, who's his boss, who's actively looking at the NE is telling porkies as well? I was also in the Army with the chap concerned and would never impeach his integrity by the way.

I don't dispute the elastic nature of estate agents truthfulness at all by the way!

Well if it is a yes vote, I shall be looking at all the house prices plummeting then.

So now the English are the only ones who can afford the "decent priced" houses in Scotland.
Out of curiosity why would someone from Scotland not buy or be able to buy this house and that the sale will require someone that is moving up from England.
Bizarre statement to say the least.

The thinly veiled hatred in this thread is disturbing.

I'm voting yes and I'm under no illusions that there's a fair amount of risk involved to myself. I could earn less, pay more, worse still I may invoke all kinds of fury from the PH political behemoths . My reasoning basically boils down to a desire to see my country fail, and at times succeed, on its own. It's a right every person should have imo. The fact that I feel increasingly at odds with English politics is just the icing on the cake.

The no campaign have had weeks to put together a rousing argument promoting the benefits of staying in the union, and they could have had this sewn up already. What they've put forward is embarrassing.

Yous may resume with with the 'rot in hell you ginger c*nts' etc now

The interesting part will be seeing if the government has the balls to stick to the no sharing of the pound rule agreed on!! Cleggs form isn't the best here......
As far as I can tell to us it matters not what currency they physically use. Any country could select anything as legal tender - Sterling, Euro, Dollar, French Franc. All that matters is that BoE does not set monitory policy to suit anybody but the UK, and does not bail out anybody but the UK.

Incidentally, lets just say they vote YES and use the pound. If a Scottish bank (or other bank) goes bust, I'd hope that BoE would not be guaranteeing depositors from north of the border...

So you are saying you have trouble being civil to the Yes voters, need I say anymore.
Double standards me thinks.
Reading all your posts and the vile you have written directed at people it seems as though it is yourself that has the real issues.

Can't say I have, but I work fairly unsociable hours so I may not have had the chance to see you driving about - and if I have I've likely forgotten all about it, I'm 26 and it's a sad state of affairs TBH because I can't even remember what I've had for supper, rofl

Contlaw, probably shouldn't post more, my cars are in my "garage" on here and the hardcore yessers will be round burning me out if I say where exactly, lol. getmecoat

What if, following a 'yes' vote, a brand new all-Scottish centre/rightist political party called 'The Unionists' emerged? Whoever forms it can be pretty damn sure of 50% of the Scottish vote! Could be fun! Could result in a very close relationship with Westminster!

Oh dear.
Just vote Labour.

Never thought I'd say it!
