Yeah... The war has clearly started. Russian and Ukrainian forces going at it with heavy artillery and troops engaged in battlefields across Ukraine. Oh, hand on.

When the war starts you'll all know it because it'll be over in 5 minutes.

I'll take one £20 wager the Russians don't formally invade Ukraine.

On another note I've just watched the White House National Security Advisor say on live TV that in their pursuit of "terrorists" they will not recognise national borders. Nice to be able to pick and choose when you will recognise sovereign borders and when you won't.
You do understand the difference between Ukraine as a sovereign state and IS as a terrorist organisation, surely?

You do understand I'm talking about the willingness to cross national boundaries when it suits you, surely?

I'd wouldn't want to bet against all of that and more actually happening.Assuming that Putin can't win out by keeping it obviously small scale as he's done so far.All the tantrums of the EU supporters,in wanting to see the Ukrainian nationalist win out, under that limited Russian opposition,to what is obviously all about the expansion of NATO up to and into Crimea makes that and ( much ) more a lot more likely. At which point we'll see all those brave anti Russian EU supporters start running for an exit that no longer exists.

Oh dear

For some reason All McDonald's in Russia have suddenly become dangerously unhygienic and are being shut down and Jack Daniels have been putting insect repellant in there whiskey, any shop selling it in Russia will be sued

There's being a bit cheeky.

There's blatantly taking the piss.

And then there's Russian foreign policy.

No-one ever said they will, but it is blatantly obvious they are doing it informally. Which you seem to think is perfectly fine.

Putin has been demonstrating the North Korea style of propaganda lately. Just deny everything, despite the evidence and the blindingly obvious.

A map showing the situation in Eastern Ukraine... as you can see the Russian's have been constantly shelling the border area and have sent tanks and APC's into area's not controlled by the separatists.

There are reports of the Russian military seizing the Ukrainian town of Telmanove in the South East

The separatists also forced captured Ukrainian POW's to march through the streets of Donetsk in violation of the Geneva convention.

Ever been to a toilet in Russia?
I travelled for my job all over the world and graded countries by the state of their toilets, Russia did not even make the top 50 (of hygiene).

just been reading about that and seen the video, pretty humiliating for the soldiers as not only is it independence day in Ukraine but there was a pretty big turnout for this AND the Russians had street cleaning lorries clean the street behind them, like the did in the 2nd world war when German soldiers were marched through Moscow

http://www.kyivpost.com/content/ukraine/kremlin-ba...

I cant see the right sector letting this go seeing as there were so many who turned out, expect Donetsk to get a battering from shelling and GRAD missiles

Well, in adding the 'formally' qualifier, KareemK has shown that he does now agree that Russia has invaded Ukraine sovereign territory.

He's just p*ss*d off that the mainstream media is not as bothered about Israel's activities in Gaza. In retaliation for people not wanting to talk about that in this thread, he's decided that being contrary about the Ukraine crisis is fun (which is why he's so often saying something stupid and then adding a smiley).

If saying something stupid is the criteria for adding a smiley at end of a post then here, borrow these to add to your latest post:
