Malaysian airlines bookings are going to go down like a Las Vegas hooker whatever bought the plane down. Real world statistics be damned people are sheep and aren't going to go near Malaysian now...

Ukraine/Russia needs to be sodding careful too, while its fairly retarded to fly over a war zone the ultimate responsibility lies with the muppet pulling the trigger, imagine if they'd hit an American airliner!

Sky mooting the possibility that " the aircraft did not have an up to date radar system"

Sounds like b0ll0cks to me.

1) Mechanical / terrorism and massive coincidence where it happened;
2) The rebels are actually getting state of the art hardware supplied to them;
3) The missile was Russian / Ukrainian Military.
4) The rebels looted hardware from the Ukrainian military. Considering the number of bases they overran is it really impossible they acquired missiles?

Shot down by the Ukrainian rebels apparently. Presumably supplied by Russia.

BBC say this is potentially "hugely embarrassing " for the Russian government. Only hugely embarrassing? FFS.

Why would Russia shoot at a Malaysian passenger plane on purpose? Doesn't make sense surely?

Might force the Russians to distance themselves from the Ukrainian mess that they seem to think they have control over. Kiev will keep the rebels in a small area and time will pass until the next flair up.

ww3 this aint.

Reported to on been travelling with an altitude of 10km so hardly flying low! This is unacceptable, can see this going very bad very quickly. Military attack on Russia?
Military attack on the Ukraine? It's likely their population shooting down aircraft.

So the people who want as much assistance crushing an uprising of their own people by the West while blaming Russia.

Can't see any problem taking their word for it.

If true, this is probably the most terrifying news I've ever heard.
You can't have heard much terrible news in your life then.

Whilst this is an absolute tragedy, it's certainly not the first time an airliner has been shot down by defence forces. It's not even the first time an airliner has been shot down by the Russians (if it was them).

fair point, equally likely. Although then the Ukrainians would know they had them you would think, but anyway its all speculation. Still shocking. Willy H picked a good time to go - Over to you Phil...
