Well Cameron said he wanted the EU from the Atlantic to the Urals which is partly how the Ukraine mess kicked off.

I imagine everywhere that classes itself as in Europe must be considered as fair game for the EU mandarins.

I think another interesting question is just how close will "an ever closer Europe" actually get. And what do our politicians see as the red line they will not cross to an ever closer Europe. Or will they happily sign us up to one Europeans political and economic state which I suppose is what the desired end game is. ( hmm, that's actually three interesting questions, shades of Monty Python there!)

It's an empire which expands by using the economic resources of the existing members to purchase the sovereignty of anyone willing to sell it for some new infrastructure. It may stop when it gets close to someone large enough and hostile enough to threaten war if it continues. Otherwise, why not keep growing? Doesn't every politician want to be a big swinging dick at international summits? Men like that like power.

It looks like a wang.

I thought I read that the EU are not going to accept any more states for a five years and Scotland are getting a bit grumpy about it.

In disaster if CallMeDave wins the election.

The great British public believed all my crap about hating you. It worked.

Probably when Alex Salmond takes Scotland into the Russian Federation.

Exactly! All this blustering is just a staged event. I mean, look how buddy buddy they all are within the commons.

They all eat from the same trough.

the raison d'etre of any empire is to continually expand - to stay the same is to stagnate and to stagnate is to die. The grey people in power in Brussels want to have their "name in history"/people to remember their 'legacy'. IMO this is a huge part of what has kicked off the Ukrainian crisis - because Putin is the same.

EU expansion is already ending in bloodshed, specifically in Ukraine, the mess that is currently happening is predominately down the EU's eastward expansion.

The other way it will stop is when every person who thinks they can have a better life will have smuggled themselves in and the EU won' t be able to afford to expand under the strain.
