A french supermarket has a line of ugly fruit and veg

Would you buy ugly fruit and veg?

We grow our own whenever we can and nothing we grow would win a beauty contest but it tastes Way better then the supermarket garbage

Perhaps the "ugly" supermarket produce would taste as good as yours as it hasn't been selected for its aesthetics?

Dunno, if that were demonstrably the case then certainly I would buy it.

I don't know

If we even get a carrot that hasn't fallen out the ugly tree I shall do a comparison to its spaka brothers

As a home grower, I can agree that our stuff would not sell to the Milfs in their X5/Q7 etc.

It does however, taste waaaay better, and also doesnt contribute to the greedy pigs foursome.....

I think it's a brilliant idea, sales speak for themselves. I can't understand why the EU have made 2014 the year of food waste but they were the ones who gave guidelines for things like banana curve?

Doesn't bother me what it all looks like a carrot is a carrot.

Me too.

I even married a mis-shapen vegetable.

AFAIK the banana curve was a made up term, by someone taking the mick out of the regulations..

Is ugly food really thrown away before delivery to the super market or simply used in processed foods ??

It's no surprise Intermarche dropped the price 30% ,they just bought it in line with Grande Frais and L'Eclerc.
On a serious note, was it not the EU that dictated standards for fruit and veg in the first place and now harp on about food waste. The amount of waste is a scandal!
