Apologies for the late response and leaving aside your patronising tone (glib, perhaps?), i'm merely questioned your apparent lack of awareness in making the two comments you did.

The phrase doesn't upset me frankly, but i certainly do think the attempts by the predominantly left wing press / political spectrum to associate this policy with cleansing "policies" - ethnic, social or otherwise - which traditionally has resulted in the attempted elimination of large numbers of humans is distasteful to say the least. Nothing about this is "tantamount" to that - perhaps you best look up the definition of that word?

Incidentally, i'm too hairy to be a "dear". "Bear" perhaps?

It's an emotive phrase used to solicit a response by emotive people.

You really need to read some of the reports published describing the position a great deal of families find themselves in - social cleansing is rather more polite than some of the comments I've read.

Of course you're correct - no one is being killed, no one is disappearing overnight but the phrase used wasn't social genocide was it?

I wouldn't worry too much about the grammar police - actually, having read your edit it seems you're not too concerned anyway

I 'borrowed' nothing and I'm not suggesting anyone is trying to rid the country of anyone.

It's obviously just a coincidence that current government policy means poor people having to move from affluent areas to places less affluent.

Are those areas being 'cleansed' of the poor and those on benefits?

Do your own reading and come to your own conclusions.

Luckily for everyone including the relatively poor, the economy is back in competent hands and growing at a healthy rate, having been removed from the malign effects of people like Balls & Co.

HMMM. What definition of poverty are you using? Also, as a general rule, the gap between richest and poorest in society tends to grow more rapidly under Labour administrations. This is because Labour believe that you can close the gap by giving poor people more stuff, (The "give a man a fish" method, with the fish usually being paid for by taxing the richer guys more, or by borrowing endlessly) whereas the Conservatives tend to favour the "teach a man to fish" method.

To be honest, neither is perfect, but at least with the Conservatives the country can actually afford to pay for some of the stuff its giving away! Moreover, by focussing benefits on those who genuinely need them, as opposed to those who just like them, or feel they should be entitled to them because they worked for one afternoon on a mobile fizzy pop van in 1984, then those who are genuinely disadvantaged through no fault or sloth of their own should be able to receive more!

The figures might not suit your argument but I'd take their figures over something like a Daily Mail link or prominent PHer with a pen and the back of a fag packet.

Fact: the gap between rich and poor has widened under this coalition - no need to go looking for trends over decades when the issue is now, is affecting the vulnerable now and it matter now.

No one will argue with you over the lazy demanding everything and the feckless feeling entitled - that's not what this is about - what concerns me is the deliberate and malicious attack on the disabled and the infirm.

Miss that point if you like
