He should sue both South Yorkshire Police and the BBC.

I can't believe nobody within either investigation thought 'Wait a minute is this the correct way to do this?'

So who pays his damages is it the police and the BBC or their insurers?

And Exaro that was funded by someone wealthy that was doing a lot of Celebrity, Establishment paedophile stories has just closed too hasn't it?

It's closed to avoid being sued, or it's closed as it has served its purpose?

And it carries on.

The 2 members of the 60s group The Tremeloes arrested last year, and who were due to stand trial next year accused of indecently assaulting 15 year old girl in 1968...

Latest:
Reading Crown Court Judge has dropped the case and found both men not guilty.

Prosecution could offer no evidence.

If he wins, the penalty is against the police and/or the BBC. That's the tax-payer and the TV licence payer. Oh, and his very top level legal costs, payable by the tax payer. Think I need a summer holiday.

Perhaps it is an opportune moment for 'that' dossier to miraculously turn up again?

I'm certain no PHers could ever have met an individual that the police went trawling for further dirt on as part of an organised smear campaign.

People should stop complaining about his music, there's plenty of music in the world which is worse than his, some which is better. If you don't like it, don't listen to it.
Cliff's made some great records. Move it, Devil woman, thrown down a line, wired for sound etc. He's made some terrible ste though.

When I started getting into pop/rock music, 1957/58, Cliff was THE man. I have always remained a fan and am currently collecting his early vinyl stuff.

Any artist who has a 50 year career will have made some poor choices on the recording front, but on the whole a fantastic run of success.

It took me all of 2 minutes to learn that opening riff. There were rumours it wasn't Hank. Or was that on Move It?
As Cliff Richard and the Drifters, I sure it was Hank Marvin.

As for 'Move It', I still think it's Hank. The other person in the frame is Paul Samwell, who wrote the song.

I thought it was Hank (seems 'wrong' to keep using a false name at my age) from the beginning but as time wore on I had the joy of being in a studio and among some pro' sessionists. I mentioned that 'solo' in Move It in ignorant bliss and received a loud peal of laughter - losing all credibility in one fell swoop. Eventually got promoted to making falling over drinks and rolling ciggies.

A family member has known him since before he was even famous. She knew from the outset it was a load of rubbish, as are most of the other stories about him over the years . I guess anyone with his level of fame/wealth will attract leeches.

The 'Saville' thing that started all this resulted in one (probably more?) being jailed on the whim of a f. money grabber. I hope they jail the perpetrator of this injustice featured in the Telegraph.

A real case of 'Stand by your Man'! Well done that lady for sticking at it. She deserves an honour!

And what utter incompetence by those (Dorset police and CPS) involved which lead to an totally innocent man being accused of raping a schoolboy and jailed for eight and a half years at the age of 63 in 2013 - his conviction quashed last week by the Court of Appeal, but he's spent 3 years inside.

Real shake head time as Dorset Police reply with the usual crap, ie it takes allegations of this nature very seriously... Yeah. rolleyes

Again, well done that courageous lady and wife. You did the job for the incompetents!

Dorset police obviously didnt carry out a detailed and thorough investigation - if they had - they have seen the pool table - the scene of the rape - didnt actually exist until several years after the date of the alleged rape!!

I imagine, if I'm wrong I'm sure I will be corrected in rapid form, that the 'evidence' obtained by the police was passed to the CPS for a decision and the CPS would obviously perform no investigation of those 'facts'. So a huge injustice is down to the police. Could it be argued that evidence that could reasonably have been expected to be discovered was therefore either: withheld or: negligently overlooked by senior officers, and they should be held to disciplinary account?

Stories such as him being gay, you mean?

What does your family member say about that?
