I'm surprised he was not on his summer holidays at the time of the raid. Tbh I always thought Cliff had a mean streak although 9 times out of 10 I'm wrong about such things.

Probably more a publicity thing - like you say what are they going to find now. The box marked 'Cliff's fiddling gear' probably would have gone out ages ago (not saying there ever was one ofc). But it puts it high profile, more than a quiet word might have done, and so possibly encourages potential other complaints to come forward.

Also he's in Portugal now apparently, according to the BBC. So maybe they want to go there too.
