He might be a terrible human being, but in this case he is absolutely and entirely correct.

The thing about all of this, is that what we are actually witnessing here, is approximately bugger all to do with religion. It's a bunch of commoner garden murderers, who want to gain power by land grabbing/ murdering / raping /pillaging / plundering etc. Then trying to justify their actions by hiding it behind religion. It's a tale as old as time. Man's inhumanity to man, and all that. I was brought up during the troubles in Northern Ireland. As far as I'm concerned. It's the same old same old. people need to start trying to concentrate on the fact they are just a bunch of muredering scuzbuckets, and not get too hung up on their faux religious propaganda.

Generally I'd agree, as I feel our history would be just as violent if religion had never been invented. But in this instance their fanatical devotion to spreading their brand of Islam makes them somewhat of an exception

So Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Jordan along with America have started to bomb Islamic State targets in Syria. Good for them - it's about time Arabs started sorting out their own mess.

That's a lot of air power. It appears our leaders are feeling left out:

"Britain’s main political parties are moving towards an agreement to recall parliament on Friday to allow MPs to approve British involvement in air strikes against Islamic State (Isis) forces."

Qatar are only providing limited support I understand, rather than hardware and operational forces etc...

Even that surprised me given their interests in funding & equiping certain parties...

What is the actual involvement of the Arab nation in these strikes ? Anything other than jets dropping bombs is a pointless waste of tokenism.
I think the UK is waiting for the beheading video to be released before it to joins in with a couple of jets of it own tokenism, but with the full consequences.

Well Jordan confirmed their jets took part in strikes. I doubt the rest have....yet.

fk knows why the BBC choose to talk about other hostages' "deaths" being filmed and posted online. They were murders, not "deaths".

The seem to have the same issue with calling IS "militants" instead of "terrorists".

Pricks.

This kind of makes me laugh.

Why should they when the west keeps interferring in the middle east and doing it for them?

They must be scratching their heads wondering whether the west want dictators keeping a lid on things a-la Saudi Arabia/Qatar etc or they don't re Iraq/Libya/Syria?

Interesting that they also targeted "khorosan" quoting an "imminent" threat to the US -http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/khorasan-muhsin-alfadhli--the-man-leading-a-terror-group-more-feared-by-us-officials-than-isis-9748404.HTML - that may have been their prime objective?

-twitter is saying al-fadhli was killed

Edited by maxxy5 on Tuesday 23 September 13:26

-also, it can't be a coincidence that I (random bloke) only heard of this guy a few days before he was killed.
