Apologies, yes of course, she carries on as a labour MP and this keeps her constituents happy.

So, as a minister of British Parliament, where exactly do her loyalties lie?

Presumably she wouldn't be an MP if she didn't represent the views of her constituents scratchchin

He was already kidnapped and held for a week, handcuffed and blindfolded, then broken out by Syrians, then he decides to go back again????? WTF????

I seriously hope nobody has to risk their life to get him out a second time!

He's a journalist in a war zone. It's his job.

You'd complain (I hope) pretty quickly if your news consisted of nothing more than celebrity gossip, embedded reports, state sponsored horlicks?

As a back story, at least 17 journalists were killed in the latest Gaza war, the BBC have lost journos recently to "friendly fire", Al Jazeera have had people deliberately targeted by the US, reporting folk were beaten up and equipment tampered with, stolen and trashed by Ukrainian separatists only last week.

It's pretty dangerous out there.

Oh wait, that's just a few vague statements with the usual pro-Muslim/anti-Israel dig. Never mind.

Personally I wouldn't give a monkey's if journalists didn't go out there.

I actually think it's what the terrorists want. "News" exposure, and the possibility of human collateral to tug on the heart strings of the West.

They, and all aid workers, should be told to get out of there and advised clearly that no support will be given should they get into bother.

We need to be nicer to ISIS and if we're really super duper friendly with them they'll stop lopping people's heads off. Rainbows and kisses all round!

I'd be quite happy with just a daily highlight reel of aerial footage showing the bombs and missiles being dropped on the terrorists. No need to be there on the ground.

I hardly ever read the biased, agenda-laden, politically slanted, opinionated drivel that most news publishers spew out. They are businesses, only in it for the money, advertising $$$$, and as soon as interest fades in a news item it slides off the pages to be replaced with something else, anything else, that will catch the eye of the great unwashed and turn over more advertising revenue.

There was a time when BBC could be replied on to be impartial and honest, but those days are long gone.

Think of the remarkable effect journos had on Vietnam (mainly the reason the major powers tried to embed all journos in the Gulf wars).

Do journalists expect any worthwhile support? I doubt it.

Making the war so unpopular at home that it had to be ended early.

Bullst.

The only reason the Vietnam war ended early (?) was that the Americans with all their technology and firepower could never have hoped to defeat the general population of a country that regarded them as invaders, the majority of Viet Cong were from the south and aided and armed by North Vietnam/China.

The sole reason for the American involvement in Vietnam was to prop up a corrupt puppet government which was only marginally more palatable than the communist alternative, this was the cold war at its height.

They say that the beheading in the meat factory is not terrorism yet the fellow was chanting Islamic phrases while hacking away. That, along with this record of attempted work place conversions, has me calling BS on that.
