No.
We have to show by example how civilisation works. They are a cul de sac, but it is a painful one in the meantime.
But they are not, and never will be, civilised. We have to show by example how civilisation works. They are a cul de sac, but it is a painful one in the meantime.
This really is a repulsive act and disgusts me immensely.
THEY disgust me immensely and one can only hope the Islamic powers that be around the world carry on condemning these murderous acts.
But short of 'nuking' them, what will stop them?
Clearly, no amount of appealing to them from Imams has made a jot of difference - they are blinkered in their own views
and will kill anyone.
The thing now though, is that any western hostages WILL be executed no matter what - so there's no reason for the allies to go all out and wipe these scum off the earth by whatever means.

Its not going to end well for these nutters. Look at Gaddafi's and Sadam's demise.
What's such a pity is the people who get killed for their ego's and bizarre ideologies.
Well it seems these guys have an unlimited supply of fighters flying in from all over the globe to get involved, I don't think we have witnessed anything quite like this before. If we try and stop them then it increases the risk of incidents happening at home. What's such a pity is the people who get killed for their ego's and bizarre ideologies.
It's hopeless already for them, with their fervour though they just don't realise it. It's a bit like the Somali pirates, you don't hear much from them nowadays. This is a bigger opponent, but the same path will be trodden. These beheadings actually make it worse for them, they just don't have enough experience to know that though. There's always someone tougher than you.

Bet they killed them all on the same day.
I'm with you on this one. They took ages to release the footage because of how sensitive the Henning issue was. I thought they would have come up with an excuse about being blown up in Raqqa by the infidels. This strikes me as an enormous own goal. RIP

It`s the eve of Eid tonight and I answered my door to find two of my neighbours with a plateful of food and a box of chocolates, both of them smiling and happy. We chatted for a few minutes and they invited us round for more food tomorrow.
An hour later I have just read the news about Alan Henning, and I feel sick. I'm disgusted at the savage, stupid mentality that has killed him and I'm sick for my kind and sweet muslim friends whose generosity of spirit runs so counter to the oft displayed negativity about Islam we read so often. They must feel terrible.
My neighbours once won a box of wine in a raffle and were offered an alternative prize, but they chose to take the wine because they thought my wife and I would like it, (we did).
The family of Alan Henning are the ones most hurt by this, but second are the many good and decent people who just happen to be muslims and I wonder when the filthy scum will realise that by these barbaric actions they are defaming the religion they profess to serve.
I was born just outside Eccles and I find that the fate of this poor man bothers me more than I can say.
I really hope that Isis and all of its adherents have, with these executions, written their own death warrants. There may be good in most religions and strong moral principles too, but the sheer scope for misinterpretation and fanaticism that seems to hallmark all of them should make us think that it might be time to set them aside and live together without gods.

Very sad to hear about Mr Henning.
I always thought what an utterly selfless and brave man giving his time like that. Especially so because I would imagine he was of fairly modest means himself going by his job, so by choosing to help others was happy to take probably not an insignificant financial sacrifice.
