The Lee Rigby thing was different - I'm not talking about a pair of nutters hacking off people's heads in the street, I'm talking about abducting people and doing it on video and so forth in a much more "surgical" and calculating manner. This will happen, I'm sure.
Didn't they already thwart an attempt at this on British soil?

It will happen.

A member of the armed forces or even just an innocent passer-by will be kidnapped and taken to a hide-away and it will all be filmed.

I don't think it's if, but when.

The Towers were not up close and personal. That is the thing with this, the viewer, for whatever reason they are watching, they are detached until a camera is up close.
so the jumpers were not close enough for you ?

So? Why so? Hate that leading term.

I did not see the jumpers until the later programs that were made on the subject even then I turned the channel.

There is a world of difference for having the actual death with the person concerned in your face and not in your face. Upshot is the car crash you witness with a death is less personal than seeing the person die. Same with this video.

Interesting. I didn't know that western nations had been "carpet bombing cities". Please give examples.

Its an extremely sharp knife, I've seen similar if not the same used for removing hands etc... Very quick and clean.
Phew. For a moment there I thought the butchering vermin were inflicting excessively cruel barbarity.
Oh,that's alright then,sharp knife.
Put my mind at rest.
Given some of the other videos that are available where less painful/quicker results would have been achieved by using a spoon, it could have been a lot worse. I imagine they threatened as much if he didn't stick to the script.

An example where a country is increasing it's sphere of influence ,without resorting to warfare,is China where it is pouring money into African countries, creating infrastructure albeit whilst profiting from the resources there and turning a blind eye to the endemic corruption in those countries.
Unfortunately most Middle East countries are undemocratic and politically unstable and are led by corrupt regimes.
It is with theses regimes, sometimes puppets of the West that we have to deal with.
When these regimes either become too corrupt or turn against us that we feel the need to have regime change and this leads to many of the problems we have now.

China are rubbing their hands at watching the UK and the US get drawn into this again.

Nothwithstanding that china have substantial mineral contracts etc with various governments in these regions, no boots on the ground from China. UK and US can be the world's police force.

Meanwhile, while the world try to sanction Iran for its nuclear ambitions, china does an oil deal. Meanwhile, while the world tries to sanction Russia, china does a gas deal.

Meanwhile, while the US gets drawn into the Middle East again, China tests its resolve to antagonising India, the Philippines, Vietname, Japan, etc etc etc

China is not part of the solution here

but I digress...

Met police eh? So only in Landan? There's nothing in statute to back this up.

Thank you for your analysis of my memory. That isn't carpet bombing. Perhaps you have some other examples.

Given we're not allowed to watch certain types of movies/images of consenting adults doing consensual stuff, I'm hardly surprised.

If the Russians did something similar it would most certainly be publicised as carpet bombing.
Same reason some radical Muslims are rebels & freedom fighters whereas other radical Muslims are terrorists & insurgents. The West are terrorism enablers, simply because or international policies are so hypocritical.
Some folk on here really need to free-up their thinking & stop sucking down Western propaganda.

Perhaps you should worry less about people "sucking down western Propaganda" and learn a bit more about what propose to know(and don't). As someone already told you, nothing about that was "carpet bombing". That requires a different set of aircraft, different type munitions, and very specific math calculations.

Perhaps, but as has been posted before - there's is a stload of (to any reasonable mind) unprovoked, unreasonable violence.

Exhibit A: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jyllands-Posten_Muham...

Hundreds killed, various embassies assaulted (we all look the same, right? fk where they are from, let's just wreck st and kill people) over a cartoon. The minority certainly get about!
