There were some tribes in Afghanistan (cannot remember which ones TBH) that had a saying; "Little boys are for pleasure, women are for babies". Not sure how they squared that reasoning with Uncle Mo.
i thought that was the saudi royal family outlook .
No idea about the Saudis, but it certainly happens in Afghanistan. The Taliban actually outlawed the practice, although you have to believe that the more powerful leaders continued.

It seems that British Soldiers found that young Afghan men would try and fondle them. See here.

I find it amusing that the BBC would come focus on a medium sized city in a southern US state to do some sensationalized reporting when they could go to East London and stir up all the drama they could require; or does that not adhere to their leftist agenda?
The BBC isn't leftist, just anti-American. wink
Ah, Communist then. wink
Honestly, I look at all the UK news channels and can't really tell the difference. The stuff the BBC does on the World Service is a little different to Sky, but not a great deal. Can't get Fox, Al-Jazeera or RT any more, but those were noticeably different.

Maybe 60 Minutes should do Tower Hamlets?
Now that Sir would be a blast to watch. hehe

Could be, I wouldn't know; I do know it was more than one tribes' view in Afghanistan.

I remember on the radio a couple of years ago a freelance reporter just back from Afghanistan, who wasn't tied down by the corporate dignity of organizations like the beeb or Sky, didn't pull any punches and was telling it like it was over there.

Amongst other jaw dropping stories, he said it was common practise for the Afghan National Police to keep young boys in the back of the police station for sex during the night.

To say we might just be wasting our time over there is putting it mildly.

Two girls of Samoli descent, aged 16 & 17, took off from Colorado bound for Syria to join ISIS. They were stopped enroute and returned. What the hell were they thinking? What use did they believe they would be put to?

Hang on, it's a long stretch from Afghanistan to Syria or Iraq.

Somali, Somali.

I expect they thought they'd become war brides. Not a lot really known about the war brides (as opposed to the "spoils of war").

Points both, I think, to the incredible alienation of 2nd generation immigrants and to the effectiveness of ISIS propaganda.

I don't know whether to describe this

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/oct/...

as instructive, or just as a dispiriting pointer to what we are likely to face, again and again, in the future. With so many mental cases like these it's a matter of time before others turn their attention to domestic attacks and don't get rumbled first. I only wish I believed in a Hell, it would be some comfort to know they'd be there.

I agree; however, if you pester me ever again with your spelling police activity, I will place you on Piers Morgan's personal list of fans; you will begin receiving regular correspondence.

Different language, different culture. And so on. Anyway, the Ancient Greeks started it (allegedly).
