this may have been asked / answered but: how are they getting their food? I mean a large amount of people req a large amount of food which req supply chain, suppliers, some kind of supply market etc. So I would have thought that would be easy to cut off? Or is it that we think of the other people living in their strongholds therefore don't do it?

The video documentary posted by another PHer showed what looked like takeaway food packaging in an abandoned mosque. I don't think they struggle for food, although I would like it if they did.

As yet unconfirmed reports that Abu Muhammad Zarqawi aka "Jihadi John" has been killed in Kobane.
So that means he'll soon appear at Dover, ready to resume his career as a scensoredt DJ in London
Seems that the guy in question was actually a Dutch Jihadi.

Where possible YPG will take pics of Daesh dead to establish identity (and any documentation they have). Genuinely dead Daesh are not re-incarnated. Daesh have burnt their own dead to make identification difficult/impossible.

Rescue/intelligence is not as easy as some think:

1. There's a simple tweak that makes tracking a mobile signal difficult (sometimes Daesh screw up, but not often)
2. Area where captives can be held is very large.
3. If in a town or city huge risk of civilian casualties
4. Failed rescue mission would be great propaganda

I've seen reports, too, that one of the Japanese has been killed.

Food:

1. Loot the shops
2. Prioritise your troops over civilians
3. Difficult to know who a truck is going to (some supply routes are still intact)
4. Smugglers

Meantime, Daesh have been taking a real pasting since Xmas. it's not going their way at all. 4 streets to clean in Kobane. Mosul being shelled. Martial law in Raqqa.

YPG raise a small flag to celebrate:

You just don't understand! By behaving worse than them we can show we're better than them and thereby convince them to change their ways. wink

Not sure they understand nice. As said, and I wondered when someone would do this and some countries are less inclined to be as nice as we are.

Great.
Why not do away with trials for terrorists & bring back public hanging? We could call the new sets of legislation Pharia Law. Sounds good to me. smile

Send her back to them (full of explosives and a twentfour hour timer)Sure they would feel the benefit of her return. She has already said of her "failed"bombing attempt that she wanted to kill as many people as possible-best place to start.

Any prisoners will just become martyrs.

Those guys fight as if their intention is to be killed in the process.

Surely if they really wanted to be martyrs they would not let themselves be taken prisoner?

No. Prisoners are not martyrs, and prisoner are taken. And martyrs killed by women don't go to heaven.

Correct, and one of the reasons for my earlier post.I imagined a hundred or so is 'fighters' (those who are a failure with women) having a big welcome party for thier released comrade, then someone somewhere pushes the button.
Saves thier heaven getting overcrowded as well.
