US journalist beheaded by ISIS...

this may have been asked / answered but: how are they getting their food? I mean a large amount of people req a large amount of food which req supply chain, suppliers, some kind of supply market etc. So I would have thought that would be easy to cut off? Or is it that we think of the other people living in their strongholds therefore don't do it?

They take from whatever towns or villages they chose.Shame really as air drops could have been organised (With poisoned food)!
The video documentary posted by another PHer showed what looked like takeaway food packaging in an abandoned mosque. I don't think they struggle for food, although I would like it if they did.Dunc B said:

As yet unconfirmed reports that Abu Muhammad Zarqawi aka "Jihadi John" has been killed in Kobane.
So that means he'll soon appear at Dover, ready to resume his career as a st DJ in LondonWhere possible YPG will take pics of Daesh dead to establish identity (and any documentation they have). Genuinely dead Daesh are not re-incarnated. Daesh have burnt their own dead to make identification difficult/impossible.
Rescue/intelligence is not as easy as some think:
1. There's a simple tweak that makes tracking a mobile signal difficult (sometimes Daesh screw up, but not often)
2. Area where captives can be held is very large.
3. If in a town or city huge risk of civilian casualties
4. Failed rescue mission would be great propaganda
I've seen reports, too, that one of the Japanese has been killed.
Food:
1. Loot the shops
2. Prioritise your troops over civilians
3. Difficult to know who a truck is going to (some supply routes are still intact)
4. Smugglers
Meantime, Daesh have been taking a real pasting since Xmas. it's not going their way at all. 4 streets to clean in Kobane. Mosul being shelled. Martial law in Raqqa.
YPG raise a small flag to celebrate:

Any prisoners will just become martyrs.
No. Prisoners are not martyrs, and prisoner are taken. And martyrs killed by women don't go to heaven. Worth a watch: http://vimeo.com/116362347 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiOMYvJUI7w&fe...
