I’m surprised they’ve made it this far, does the UK government want to make an example of them?

Don’t these people usually end up getting killed by drones or some other swift justice.
I think May would be making a political mistake trying and imprisoning them here. There is nothing to be gained from it. Sticking to her guns and leaving them stateless, then seeing them interred somewhere else would be by far the better solution IMO.

Therefore I would bet money that she will insist on them being brought here for trial and interred here...
The thick fker decided to join a certain 'institution' let the yanks have him join the one in Terre Haute. let's not waste a single penny more on him.

Well done Sajid Javid.

“Britain has secretly abandoned its blanket opposition to the death penalty and Guantanamo Bay to allow two notorious members of the "Beatles" group of Isil terrorists to be sent to America, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.

I fall into the 'kill them slowly' camp - which I realise is not an intelligent position.

But the suffering these people have inflicted - the most cowardly, dreadful, slow, inhumane, terrifying deaths... I can't find any sympathy for them whatsoever. Even if I am accused of sinking to their level - so be it.

If they are tried in the US could they be executed? Not heard of any IS members being executed in America

I think it was worded carefully as the death penalty has not been sought yet so there is not an objection to raise. While i am not pro capital punishment I accept in some cases it might be warranted, the killers of lee Rigby spring to mind.

The angry side of me says fk them, they can have a horrible death.

The more sensible side of me says do not execute them - they'll only be martyrs. Lock them up in solitary, with a media blackout on them forever. Make their days as uncomfortable as possible - they are irrelevant to us, lets treat them as that without them becoming idiots an extremist can 'pray for'.

That's all happen in the USA, and I think a bit of a reality check about execution would be a good start down their road to misery. Plus, I guess we wouldn't be footing the Guantanamo Bay hotel bill?

Death sentence the Japanese way. They go on death row and are never told when they are to be executed. Could be five days, could be five years or more. When they are 95 years old release them,

But walk them to the execution chamber every day.

All this talk about not letting them become martyrs is a bit wet.

Did any of the terrorists who took part in the Iranian Embassy siege become martyrs or did their swift and rather public demise serve as a warning not to do such things in the UK?

Let the Americans decide; our only chance for swift retribution was probably in the sighting tool of a drone.

Good on Javid for taking the stance he has. These scum ceased to be our problem the moment they left the UK and committed the atrocities they are now being tried for.

As far as I’m concerned they are enemy combatants and have no affiliation with the UK, therefore we stay silent on what happens and if that involves death by mau mau then so be it.
