Just don't let them get tried in Turkey - another member of the same cell only got seven and a half years!

Forget the death penalty. Just life in the ADX Florence in Colorado. Makes death look kind.

Sounds alright.

‘In extreme cases of inmate misbehavior, the center of the prison houses an area known as "Z-Unit" or "The Black Hole," which can hold up to 148 prisoners in completely darkened and fully soundproofed cells. Each Z-Unit cell is equipped with a full set of body restraints that are built directly into the concrete bed.’

I didn’t realise that’s where Abu Hamza ended up. Perfect place for him rofl brilliant.

I don't get hers or any other apologist's attitude, they'd have lopped her useless head off in a heartbeat.

How do you start "Just Giving" pages for flights to Syria?

They should let them choose their execution from the ISIS-approved list:

Burning
Drowned in a swimming pool
Beheaded
Thrown off a tall building
Crushed under a boulder
Run over by tank
Buried alive

Take your pick, because that’s the st scumbags of their ilk have been doing to other people. Human rights my fking arse.

We should say not to the death penalty. Life in prison in the USA will be sufficient punishments - its not like its a case of they cannot be prosecuted if the death penalty is off the table.

I was reading an interview with these two guys this morning:

“George is violent, angry, unpredictable and always on edge,” the French hostage noted. “Really nasty. He loved violence and did much of the torture. He was the one who really had it in for James Foley and gave him such a hard time.”

Not sure it has been mentioned yet but I have just finished listening to 'Caliphate' a ten-part podcast series by the NYT terrorism correspondent. Well worth a listen. Shows how easily a (relatively) privileged, educated and, for want of a better word, normal, Westerner can be incited to join and kill for ISIS.

I don't see where the decision has to be made - these animals are now stateless aren't they? So if we hand them over then they are the US's to do with as they will; we have no interest in their 'plight' as they aren't subjects of this country.

But I might be wrong!

The trouble seems to be that they 'were' British, & that somehow the likes of Saint Chami, Abbot, & the other bleeding-heart tts, think that we still have some interest in them.
If they had exclusively tortured/beheaded British nationals, then extradition to the UK would seem fitting, but as UK jurisdiction does not apply in Syria, how could they be tried here?

you are over thinking it. they were captured by US backed forces and killed (allegedly) us citizens thus the US have a right to seek justice as their own laws apply.

Frankly if they face a needle or life in supermax I could care less. Give them a fair trail and let justice prevail. Should have thought about the penalty before the started torturing (allegedly) US citizens

The mother of James Foley was on R4 this morning.

She said they shouldn’t face the death penalty.

What wasn’t used in every newscast afterwards was that she also thanked the U.K. government for not objecting to their own extradition so that they can face justice in the US.

All this talk about not letting them become martyrs is a bit wet.

Did any of the terrorists who took part in the Iranian Embassy siege become martyrs or did their swift and rather public demise serve as a warning not to do such things in the UK?
Why do you think it's wet? The judicial process and subsequent lead up to execution will be publicised many many times over, plus it's an easy way out for the bds.

I'm all in favour of the UK handing them over with no objection/stipulations

What those evil monsters did was incomprehensible and they deserve to die. My only reservation is that it would be a painless death. fk em - murdering scumfks
